Where's the bombshell?

Is it just me, or does Norman Spector have nothing other than more questions?

Update: Don Newman just read my mind on Politics - He mused that Spector seemed to have more suspicions than facts.

More at Jack's Newswatch - Especially regarding the Allen Rock testimony - "Le Worm Wriggleth".

Excellent Joanne, This is a couple hours of my life I will not get back,,LOL
I have no idea what he is trying to say, except about expensive accounts that he did not and does not have a problem with. I think the whole committee is as confused as we are though, so lets see where it goes.

At least they're getting the questions directly from the media now, instead of using the Liberal MP's as sockpuppets.

This whole thing is a farce, send the man over to Germany where he is supposed to be. Only W.K. was hoping for a bombshell.

Just another political hack and he wants a deal for Schreiber?

I've got a deal for Schreiber .... one free ticket to Berlin ..... see ya' in the German Papers Heinie don't worry about the door hittin ya in the ass on the way out .....

All Schreiber's been up to for the last two years is looking for his get out of jail free ticket.
A bunch of sleazy and just plain stupid LIberals are playing his game in the hope they can get political points for themselves and not get tarred in the process.

What else is there to say?

Watching the excitement south of the border these days and then back to Canadian politics makes me sick to be honest.

Canadians are fast becoming the Gomer Pyle of the North.

Looks like Mr. Spector may be on Mr. Schreiber's payroll now.

What I saw was a spiteful little man
trying to get even and make a name for himself. He brought no information pertaining to the Airbus case to incriminating BM . This dog and pony show is getting rather sick.

Interesting. Mulroney's spokesperson on Newman stated they had documented proof of Thibault and Szabo meeting with Schreiber in jail a number of times as well as with Schreibers' lawyer Greenspan.

Thibault might get away with it but Szabo could be in big doodoo. The head of the committee is supposed to remain neutral in the proceedings.

Methinks the Liberal's are about to have more egg on their faces in a few days when the facts are presented.

Good catch, Paul. I missed that.

Canadians have tuned this farce out long ago, and after reading Spector's ramblings, I think we can all see why.

As Paul says, what's to come will grab the publics attention.

I think he could of just wrote an article in the newspaper comment section. Instead of the show he put on today.

What a waste of time this commitee is.

Is Paul Szabo the second Liberal mentioned by the CBC, to have been in on the fishing trip at the hearing?

Starting to look that way..Pablo soon to have some company in the doghouse methinks!

fulsome (oxford dictioary)

cloying, excessive, disgusting by excess (of flattery, servility, exaggerated affection)

Politicians and news media PLEASE stop using this word

You know your average Canadian believes this to be just another liberal corruption investigation, just the tail end of the Gomery inquiry. They tuned out before it was turned on. Why wouldn't they? all you hear is the sound of liberals sucking the tiles off the floor when they are caught doing something dirty. With the cbc know seen as the propogandist of the liberal party, they are done for. This is hurting the liberals far more than any other party. That is a good thing, poetic justice so to speak.

Oh, man! I second that motion. My Liberal MP Karen Redman uses that all the time, and frankly it is cloying, excessive, disgusting by excess.

Anybody remember Peggy Lee's song "Is that all there is"?

I just finished watching the entire proceedings (rebroadcast).

Plenty of conjecture, supposition, hypotheses, assumptions, maybe this, maybe that, but actual knowledge and proof of any wrongdoing? I don't think so.

I once thought Spector was worth listening to. But seeing his performance today I've lost all respect for the guy. He was little more than grandstanding blowhard with nothing of substance to add. All we heard was Norm's 'opinion' - and who cares! As Paul said, what Robin Sears (Mulroney's spokesguy) had to say on Don Newman's show about Spector's sad performance and about Szabo's and Thibault's partisan shenanigans was very, very interesting. Sears also slammed Pat Martin's "foul mouthed", "adolescent" behaviour.

This isn't just a circus, it's an embarrassment to Canada. I agree with Anon:

Watching the excitement south of the border these days and then back to Canadian politics makes me sick to be honest.

Platty,

I disagree that Canadians have tuned out on this. I've heard a large number of people still commenting on it, but their knowledge is restricted to headlines from the Star and soundbites from TV. Generally I find most people are buying into the soundbites without looking at the facts and details of the case.
In fact, even people who are supposedly as informed as Mike Duffy, seem to be either ignoring the facts or aren't aware of or considering them.

nothing at all watching from the ethics committee yesterday.

Actually what was really funny was a skit the Mercer did on his show last night. It was a take-off of that ad where the guys' always saying "DUDE?!" only Mercer was on Parliament Hill. Several cameos by many...but the funniest of all was Dion, a good sport but he just couldn't get it right....don't know if there's a clip on his site but it's worth a watch tonight - I believe it repeats.

Very funny for sure anon. The burning question is: are there really gumball and jellybean machines on the Hill?

Better call Dalton's junkfood police!

Who was Duffy with?

Had to miss all the action yesterday, but from the comments I wonder, did Norman make all this fuss to increase his book sales.

Two points he made that I can agree with:

1) Kick the lobbyists out of politics. Just a dream, I know.

2) I'm troubled by the performance of our national police force, as well, going back to Shawinigate.

Other than that, why didn't he just write this as a column, and get paid for it?
