Quotes of the week

From the Globe's Blogolitics.

I think Robert Fife's has to be my favourite:

CTV's Robert Fife on the Commons ethics committee: "It's clear that this committee has run out of steam when it has to call Brian Mulroney's former chef. What’s next, the former pizza delivery man?"

You want fries with that egg-on-your-face, Chairman Szabo?

Don't forget MaryT also came up with the "I AM WOMAN I LIKE HARPER" T-shirt idea ;-)

Re I AM WOMAN I LIKE HARPER
I have a friend who has a T-shirt business, and she is making me up a shirt with that saying.
She is willing to take orders if anyone is interested. We are thinking of colours. I think Blue with Orange lettering.
When I get it I will send a picture.
She is also a Harper supporter, so was interested in my idea.
She has given me permission to post her phone number

Great, Mary. Send me a pic and I'll post it.

I think blue & white lettering would be better but that's up to you guys.

This lady does Hoodies, sweats and all wearing apparel. She has done the grad coats etc for years.
She is a farm wife, who lost her job as hospital adm, when Ralph changed the rules. She started this business, on her own, and is doing great. We picked those colors as they are conservative colors, but, I don't think too much orange is a good idea. NDP you know.
She is working on design, etc on her machine but I told her to get me something soon. Changes can be made. I might even send one to Giggles.

I agree with Joanne, blue with white lettering.

Or royal (Conservative) blue with navy blue lettering, with a small red maple leaf instead of the dot over the i in "like"

If she makes them, they will sell ...

And I will buy.

I like Gabby's colour suggestions...I too will buy one if you can post all of the necessary information.

Also, contact several of our Harper's female caucus members to give them a heads-up. If we're going to do this, might as well go big/!

How about a graft meter on the back with the Chretien years as the horizontal axis and all the money swindled out of the various boondoggles and all the wastage as the vertical. Gun registry, HP/Compaq, Adscam etc. Admittedly its only about $100 million a year but to a lot of Canadians that isn't chump change :-)

That chef obviously didn't want to testify - he was forced to do so. But at least we heard him say that Stevie Cameron had completely twisted what he had said in an interview by her.

What a witch hunt!

Well, tempting as that might be, let's focus on the POSITIVE message:
Women DO like Harper - not all women, but certainly enough.

I even told Conservative strategist Tim Powers once on a talk show to encourage the PM to wear his glasses more often because they soften his image.

I'm not looking for a fuzzy-wuzzy huggy bear as a PM, but unfortunately image counts.
