JDB called it a "Silent Revolt".
I can't find that clip on the CTV site. Was I dreaming?

No you were not dreaming - MD reaction of "unbelievable" repeated over and over was interesting.
Ah hah... And even stranger that it's not available online.
I watched that little clip also. These two tell it like it is and admire Mike Duffy for his courage to tell the truth.
Scary for Canada to have Bob Rae in charge of the Liberal Party. Not suprising to see him take over without clear mandate from grassroots.
bob rae taking control of the party. thats power corp flexing there muscles via rae. also interesting cretian is starting to poke around a bit.
The Conservatives better nor use any more than 1% of the available material for their "Dion is not a leader campaign." We wouldn't want to make the next Liberal leader look too good by comparison.

Yeah, why fund Bob Rae's campaign for him?
You saved me making a post on this topic and wasting time looking for the video clip.
The other interesting point I heard was that Rae had quietly (nearly) paid off his debt from the leadership race. Yet the Dion & Iggy aren't close yet. Which begs the question, "where did the money come from?" I think some digging in the Elections Canada donations database is in order.
Thanks for posting on this. I wasn't sure i could believe my own lying eyes when i saw that clip! And MDL chose not to include it online which is weird.
What's even weirder is not seeing a trace of this anywhere in MSM!
Arghhh ... (expletive deleted) , that is all Canada needs ... Bob Rae at the economic helm if he were to be elected as PM , free to create a mess like he did in Ontario!
Rae would make Trudeau's spending pale by comparison.
The fact that a socialist NDP failure is poised to assume control of the Liberal Party is truly frightening. Even more frightening is that Canadians might actually elect him as PM.
Yes I saw this also and found it stunning. Some interesting comments here: "Rae had quietly (nearly) paid off his debt" . . . this is interesting given that Rae's post leadership race dept was huge -- I can't remember the actual figure but it was very big. I expect his brother has kind of forgiven the debt (if that's allowed). AND, Rae does have clout as the Liberal's most direct link to the money train (Power Corp.)
O.K. I just waded through yesterday's show with my archaic VCR, and took a few notes. This won't be word for word, but you'll get the gist of it.
Jean LaPierre said something along these lines:
I don't think there will be an election. This is the first time I've seen that since 1972 where the leader says get ready and then nothing happens...
Dion gave the order 2 weeks ago, and the lieutenant didn't act.
This guy is a general without an army...
Interesting link to the $50,000 debt reduction.
I checked out Bob Rae's financial filing for his leadership bid. In total he borrowed $845,000 from just himself and his brother (mostly from his brother). During the campaign he was able to raise enough money to pay back $623,478.11 leaving just $221,521.89 left owing. Taking out that $50k means he only had to pay back $171,521.89. At $1,100 per donor max that means Bob only had to find 156 people to donate the max to retire his debt.
Reid, Bob Rae may prove to be more calculating than Stephen Harper! Dion should watch his back.
Here's more from my notes:
Jean LaPierre said Dion is 'totally frustrated' and 'mad as hell.'
He said Ignatieff just woke up to the fact that Bob Rae repaid (all?) his debts and now has his 'troops' all over the party.
Joel Denis Bellavance said something about Bob Rae 'slowly but surely taking control' of the party. He mentioned that Bob Rae doesn't want an election now because he wants his by-election first.
Duffy just kept saying, "Unbelievable!"

Spike, can you tell me a bit more about the Powercorp angle? I did find this interesting little tidbit.
Steve at officiallyscrewed.com thinks he has it recorded so if he does I'm going to make him put it on youtube
That would be great, Matt! thanks for the tip.
No luck :( Steve recorded it for the hour but wasn't there watching it, and apparently recorded an hour of Schrieber at committee.
Please, please let's hope that Bob Rae becomes the new liberal leader.
It will be another gift for Steve Harper...and he'll not have to work hard to win Ontario either.
Ontarians have long, long memories.

Pity.
Yeah, the Schreiber thing was on at 5 and then at 8 they had the live MDL show, which is usually the repeat slot. I bet not too many people saw that clip. Oh well, I think I covered the highlights in my notes. Thanks, Matt.

Sh-h-h-h-h...
Go Bob, go!
Matt, Jean LaPierre pretty much repeated the whole thing on MDL tonight.
Great, I passed the message on to Steve. He's always got the VCR ready to tape MDL so since it was on at the _proper_ time today he should have it this time.
Let's get ready to spread this sucker around :) - the msm may not feel it's newsworthy that an entire party is undermining it's leader but I tend to think it's notable.

Dion won't make it through the summer before a doris day revolution hits. Look for Coderre to take the lead.
Joanne:
Start with the board of directors and you'll see the name John Rae Exec VP & Chairman of Exec Committee. Then start google searching the names of the other members and you'll find a who's who of political insiders tied to PET, Mulroney, Chretien, and Paul Martin.
This article posted on paulmartintime.ca (great website documenting all the sliminess of Paul Martin) is a good primer.

Thanks for this, Reid. I see I've got my homework cut out for me. ;)
