Another 'Beer & Popcorn' moment?

Scott Reid tonight on MDL:

...Is there anyone in Canada with a frontal lobe that believes this Government on the issue of detainees?

Me not know, Scott. Me cold.

Must go make fire.

Scott always has the agenda...only he's a few days late at trying to keep this in the forefront. His buddy Wimpella is on to another spin project.

Scott has frontal lobes????

Who knew? Is that information a matter of national security?

Yes. Me. I care. Mainly I care that the ones we don't detain come to their senses. I care that they realize we are not the bad guys. I want them to see that their own leaders are the bad guys and rebel against them.

But maybe I get that because I have two frontal lobes!

Well, I will say this: the evidence of mental activity is not belied by the ridiculous beliefs in the 'magic man in the sky'.

I noticed that too, I was waiting for Tim to call him on that.

"So Scott, are you now saying that anyone who doesn't take the Liberal position is somehow mentally deficient?"

My wife and I both shook our heads when he said that, but I think the Liberals have sunk so low that no one even cares anymore. The goal now is not for them to improve but for the MSM and the Libs to smear and twist the truth to damage Harper, the troops and the country.
I hate the Liberals.

All lemmings have frontal lobes.

The Liberals have nothing, and no one else.

I'd sooner they give Kinsella more air-time than a Martin lemming.

Trevor, yeah, I was a bit disappointed that Tim didn't pick up on that. He made some reference to 'lobe' but didn't point out how insulting the remark was to Canadians who might disagree with Reid.

And the Globe seems more than happy to be an accomplice to that end.

Oops. Me shouldn't use such big words. Me go make popcorn now with Hunter. Then us get big mammoth for dinner.

TangoJuliette sez:

further to this thread, I offer the following quote, author and citation from Saturday National Post.

A definite MUST-READ, for anyone who really wants to know where some of us old vets are coming from.

Author.
J. L. Granatstein. I think that he might even be a serious liberal, if I am not mistaken.

His column is suported by the Canadaian Defence and Foreign Affairs Institute.

Article.

Mike Pearson's True Heir: Stephen Harper.

Key Quote.

"Manley remembers the real Pearsonian legacy of strength. His Liberal colleagues do not."

Stunningly lucid, well thought out and clearly articulated article.

Read it. Memorize it. This is the truth of history. This is not, I say again NOT, not the flack and spin of gotcha quasi- libranos, surrender monkey dipsters, and other sundry
revisionistic lick-spittles and aspiring quislings.

It is an excellent article. You can clearly see the dividing line between Mr. Granatstein's historical analysis and the flip into the usual partisan rant.

Dion, by demanding rotation with NATO is simply following the Pearson idea of nations working together, instead of going it trying to go it alone. As we continue to avoid insisting that the rotation take place, we push ourselves further away from the Pearsonian view.

Now that Manley's report demands more troops and better equipment, Harper is at least going to NATO with this, and they are at least making agreeable noises. Of course Harper makes threats to pull out if they don't, exactly the kind of haphazard abandonment he claims the Liberals want. As usual, trying to misrepresent the Liberal position.

His column is suported by the Canadaian Defence and Foreign Affairs Institute.
Yes, a lobby group, not a think tank. That's why he had to tack on the partisan malarkey in his last couple of paragraphs, and the title.

Liberal supporter:

Although the notion of rotating NATO troops 'seems' like a good idea, maybe you should read and understand the statement by Gen. Hillier about that subject. Instead of rotating Canadian troops OUT, the real game-plan is to ADD more troops from places they aren't needed to where they ARE needed, namely down south where the Taliban are, With a few thousand more guys with guns and helicopters would take the pressure off our troops and still give the enemy something to worry about. Then maybe we can actually make enough security progress where the much bally-hoo'd re-construction might be able to take place?

You can't jump to the finish line right from the starting gate. The end-game is what we all want, But Mr. Taliban is doing everything in his power to prevent it. So FIRST we have to get them totally gone before the finish line will be in sight.

Why is that small reality so hard for Liberals to figure out? As a side-note to all Liberals and NDP types:

Peacekeeping is definitely not what our soldiers do best. Soldiering is what they do best. Our 'traditional' role as peacekeepers is, and always has been, a myth. The only thing traditional about it was the long-held tradition of yellow-bellied Liberal governments that had no stomach for any real foreign policy ideals other than gutting the military and trying to 'look' like they were doing something at the U.N. After they finished dismantling the Army, Navy and the Air Force, running around in blue helmets was ALL they COULD do. God help them if they ever had to shoot back.

Always negotiate from a position of strength, not weakness
