The National Post takes on the fight for justice and equality

The National Post is fighting for the return of the rule of law in Ontario - The coward at Queen's Park:

The Post reams Dalton McGuinty for his wimpy attitude regarding what amounts to a native "extortion racket" (their words):

...It is a case study in cowardice, and everyone who voted for Mr. McGuinty should be ashamed of it...

But the Post has scorn for the opposition parties too:

...Much as we are proud to take this issue on, we find it astonishing that it falls to a newspaper to air the grievances emanating from a patch of Canadian territory that a provincial government has surrendered wholesale to thugs.

The saddest part is that the disgrace here is bipartisan: This is not merely an indictment of Ontario's governing Liberals, but also the opposition Conservatives. In the face of Mr. McGuinty's spinelessness, the best John Tory's party could do was suggest bringing civil lawsuits to try to recover lost income. Among other things, this is a pathetic microcosm of why Mr. Tory can't win an election....

Good for the Post. They're all cowards - The politicians, the OPP; the whole lot of them.

And where is David Crombie? The Federal Government? The Federal opposition parties? (See? I'm slamming everyone today.)

Readers are invited to send their personal accounts of how this issue has affected their lives to letters@nationalpost.com.

I invite any of my readers who voted Liberal in the past election to please tell me what the *&%# you were thinking???

Time for the grassroots to take back the province.

If you look at issues in our province, each one can be directly traced back to lies and disinformation spewed by McGuinty, and enthusiastically embraced by the star, in order to defeat the post Harris, Eves PC party. Caledonia is the direct result of the effort to pin Ipperwash on Harris instead of one officers error. Our health mess is a direct result of the lies about private care delivery. The other 200 lies he told to get elected prevent him from doing anything to help the economy because he must answer to the unions who supported him.

Excellent observation, Greg. And Julian Falconer was still blaming Harris in the report on violence in Toronto schools.

The disparity between the Post editorial staff and Warren Kinsella's blog at the same paper is astounding.

You get the feeling from reading his comment that the Post shouldn't even be raising the issue.

Isn't it Journalism 101 for someone like Warren to explicitly state he is one of Dalton's lackeys somewhere in the article/blog when he is defending the lying coward against all logic?

I agree with the Post article , and even though I am a Conservative , I have no use for John Tory , as his approach to the aboriginal thugs is no different than McQuinty.

I have one thing to smile about though. This issue will not go away soon , and if aboriginal thugs attempt to shake down a developer or builder , it is extortion , and even McQuinty and the OPP will be forced to act.

It will be a huge irony if McQuinty finds himself with another Ipperwash situation in enforcing the laws.

I'm afraid you're dreaming on that point. Read Ken Hewitt's letter linked on this post. The situation has already occurred and nothing was done.

Nothing.

Ah yes ... I know it has already occurred , but the latest actions by the aboriginals take this to an entirely new level. They are demanding extortion money from EVERY developer along the Grand River.

As I said before it will be interesting to watch how things play out , because of McQuinty and the OPP approach of "hug an aboriginal thug" , it has only embolden them , and I suspect it will not be too long before the situation becomes untenable even for McQuinty.

Ah right, yes. And they are planning to do a lot of advertising of their objectives.

Good point. It will be difficult for McGuinty to hide out in classrooms on this file.

What Kinsella does is is a counter-spin playing his big ticket item of pin the blame on Harris that's the ripple effect of blame-game leadership that is the signature of the McGuinty gov't.

Read all about it in his two books.

It's all there in crayon.

The appearance of cowardice is what happens when politicians are advised to keep a low profile and like Wiarton's favourite son(willie), and come out only to see their shadows(or for photo-ops and press conference to reannounce, primp and preen).

Yes, I believe it is called 'Full Disclosure'.
