Bob Runciman needs your help

Bob Runciman was just on Newstalk 570 asking for the help of the public and the media to put pressure on Julian Fantino to agree to the call by opposition parties for a criminal investigation into alleged higher-up political connections during Slushgate.

Do you trust Julian Fantino to do the right thing? Callers are questioning Fantino's non-partisanship.

If Fantino backs down, should we demand an inquiry? Joe Warmington says don't hold your breath.

Should we call in the RCMP?

Or maybe it's all Mike Harris' fault. After all, everything else is.

* * * *
BTW, Jeff Allan wanted to make it clear that his staff made several attempts to contact Government officials, including MPP John Milloy, but no one was available to discuss this issue.

Strange.

Joanne - there's nothing on the linked page to Joe Warmington's Sun column.

That's strange. It worked for me.

Anyone else having problem? Thanks.

It's working now, but hasn't been all morning. I sent a heads-up to their webmaster.

As to the issue, we gave McGuinty four more years to deliver us the status-quo...he's just filling in the job description Ontarians gave him.

I saw Lorrie's Mike Harris article. First he does the setup, by claiming everyone blames Mike Harris for anything, even silly things like when their dog dies. He spends seven paragraphs on the setup, then refers to the Falconer report, saying "I kid you not" that Harris policies are blamed.

Too bad Lorrie wasted all that space on his setup, so there was no space to actually report what is being blamed, and why he thinks Falconer is wrong.

Lots of space for the smear though.

Do you get the feeling that this sort of "journalism" is losing its effectiveness? It's like comedy. You can't really keep retelling the same zingers and expect to get a response each time.

Just like your shopworn Lemming meme. Today you referred to "Lemmingrad". I must have missed the memo. I thought comparing our present government to a murderous past regime was out of bounds. In this case, comparing to the Soviet Union which killed millions of people, many more than the Nazis are believed to have done.

So may I take a cue for you, and use the Nazi greeting to refer to our present day politicians now?

Nothing stopped you so far, so I can't see why you need my permission now. ;)

For the record, 'Lemmingrad' was meant to be a reference to an electorate which votes for a party which seems to feel it is above the need for transparency and accountability.

Of course that is in the eye of the beholder I suppose - Most likely lefties see Harper in that light.

In any case, I don't apologize for the Lemming meme.

It's my trademark.

Hahahahaha!

Joanne you are finally starting to get to Liberal supporter. He is actually admitting Stalin murdered millions of people. Next thing you know he will be admitting that the Nazis were also left wing. The English translation of the Nazis full name, National Socialist Workers Party might have given him a hint long ago. So might the fact that the Nazis and the German Communist Party allied to overthrow the Wiemar Republic. If LS thinks some present day politicians deserve to be called Nazis the he should be able to call them that. But they must be socialists, like the Nazis.

Oh gosh, Runncimen (who spread falsehoods during the election) wouldn't be politically motivated would he? Uh, huh.

And the next McGuinty bash fest will come when - later today, tomorrow morning - perhaps twice tomorrow.

Get a friggin life.

"Permission" in this case amounts to allowing the comment to stand. You have deleted comments that used such references before.

Joanne you are finally starting to get to Liberal supporter.

I have a new response to this kind of malarkey. "Swift, you're sounding like LGF again."

Next thing you know he will be admitting that the Nazis were also left wing.

So that is why the Nazis hated the Communists? Who do you consider Fascist then?

If you believe National Socialists were socialist because of their name, then you must believe the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea is democratic. I thought it was a dictatorship run by Kim Jong Il.

Who knew? A terrible regime usurped the name of a relatively moderate system of government to give itself a veneer of respectability and bamboozle the electorate into giving them power in order to achieve their foul agenda.

The Nazis called themselves "socialist" but really weren't, only paid lip service to it. And in a similar vein, we have right here in Canada, the CPC calling itself "conservative" but it really isn't! Just trying to bamboozle us into giving them power so they can implement their agenda.

Hahahahahahahaha!

So I take it you won't delete this then, since Lemmingrad is now ok.

Heil Harper!!!

With all due respect, the people of Ontario voted overwhelmingly to keep our current government. I'm sorry that you feel they don't represent your views. But you know what? Calling everyone else a lemming isn't a trademark, it's just childish.

Have a nice day. - Cheryl Watson, Guelph

Well Cheryl, thanks for that. I appreciate your comment. You have every right to voice your opinion.

And it is your right to call me childish if you wish. As it is my right to call Ontarians "lemmings" who blindly consume MSM sound bytes for their news.

And get railroaded by Liberal party strategists who cleverly use one issue to sway an election.

Nice try. She said your name calling is childish. She did not call you childish. There is a difference. And the "lemmings" do know the difference.

That is more typical "stuff" though. Rephrase someone's words, then attack the rephrased version. Some folks call that the "straw man" strategy.

Just like MacKay now claims Dion wants to invade Pakistan! We were part of invading Afghanistan, because invasion means you are entering against the wishes of the government of the day. Helping Pakistan militarily is not an invasion, unless we intend to enter without Musharraf's cooperation.

So the Taliban have been crossing into Afghanistan, planting IEDs, then running back over the border. If they get across, nobody goes after them and they can rest, regroup and plan the next attack.

MacKay is providing a fine example of why Canadians are turning against this mission so much. No, we don't want the Taliban to return. What we do want is an end to MacKay strutting around and calling any attack on his "leadership" treason.

Karzai negotiates with the Taliban. When anyone here suggests it, they are called Taliban Jack. When someone suggests something needs to be done about the Taliban using Pakistan as a safe haven, it is called "ludicrous".

What is ludicrous is that MacKay is in charge, using a war to try and gain partisan advantage.

L.S. - You should be making that comment at the next post.

lemming works for me too Joanne.

What's that?

Did you hear the "Hahahahahahaha" call of the common woodland lemming?

Remember though that name-calling is reserved as an entitlement of the natural governing party of Ontario.

Hey, and who was it who called Peter VanLoan Barney Rubble recently? Can't remember.

Backfired. didn't it?

Once a lemming......

And the Liberal Party calls itself liberal, but campaigns left, governs right(ish), and steals money from all.
