Told ya so

What could possibly lure me from the peaceful exhaustion of my Christmas blogging hiatus? It would have to be something big. And in fact it is.

Today's Record editorial pillories Dalton McGuinty for his stubborn, dictatorial, bone-headed refusal to even consider the possibility of listening to the committee which he promised would be allowed to review the hated health tax (which as you know primarily goes to general revenues).

Ah, but the scathing tone of the Liberal-bootlicking Record's rebuke is music to my ears. Remember now. This is one of the Liberal party's MSM lemming minions.

Finally they start to see the picture we were warning about:

"This is a terrible, cynical and infuriating position for the leader of Ontario to adopt. It reduces the pending probe of the health tax by the finance and economic affairs committee to a farce..."

"What a load of hooey..." (Well, it is a family paper).

"But if that reasoning made sense in 2004, it is absurd today . . . That tsunami of new cash has obliterated the government's deficit and left it blissfully floating on a sea of tax revenue ."

Very poetic!

The editorial ends with this:

"By proceeding with the review, McGuinty will certainly keep a promise. But if his autocratic dictates make the review worthless, the promise he has kept will be worthless, too."

Gee, ya think?

Morning Joanne, Cancel it now, save whatever money we can as it is a waste of time to allow it to continue with the decision already being made.

And this surprises who?

The Record is still a liberal rag. I refuse to waste any money on it.

Even a blind dog pisses on the odd fire hydrant!

No one can say they weren't warned.

Some of us did everything in our power to get the message out -- "Dalton McGuinty does not keep his promises."

And, the Record is surprised?

Yet, Ontarians voted for him rather than have a review of faith-based funding.

Beyond belief -- but unfortunately true. And, no doubt, this is just the beginning. Wait until the teachers' unions get everything they want -- out of those general revenues!

As Sandy pointed out, McGuinty won an election since lying to us all. He himself ran on a record of "better the lying bastard you know..." (OK, maybe not exactly what he said).

Joanne, McGuinty did all he did, lied through his first four years, and was rewarded with a majority. Apparently no one cares if McGuinty is a liar, or a dis-reputable sleaze bag. It's time to go after him on policy, because his ethics are irrelevant, have been since October.

t's time to go after him on policy

Exactly. And that's where John Tory falls short. We need a strong Conservative policy alternative.

It's long past time for John Tory to move on to other pursuits. The Ontario PC Party needs a new leader.

Hopefully, Tory will soon see that he is part of the problem -- as many said during the Oct. election, "McGuinty light." That is not a compliment.

How will his staying make a difference in four years? More of the same? A McGuinty dynasty?

Do the right thing John!

Just wait for what follows...an education premium to help pay for the new teacher contracts and added promises.

Joanne - it's not just JohnTory who's falling drastically short of going after McGuinty's policy's the whole Conservative caucus looks tired and uninspired which is leaving their support base equally tired and unwilling to support now until a leadership review.

With Kinsella at McGuinty's ear, Tory should leave because Kinsella can still push his buttons.
