Share the misery

Ian Urquhart speculates on the possibility of Dalton McGuinty replacing Stephane Dion as federal Liberal leader.

In other news, Dalton won't give up his precious Health Tax (the majority of which goes to general revenues.)

I'm torn between wanting to get rid of Dalton as Ontario Premier, and the nightmare scenario of imagining him as Prime Minister of Canada. And who would succeed Dalton anyway? Nobody I'm cheering for, that's for sure.

On second thought, hang in there Stephane!

Just read the article on Bourque...slow news or what?

As an aside, also read the "eggnog at the Harpers" article too...I had noticed lately that CTV was kinder and more balanced towards Conservatives. Is it coincidence then that the PM had a picture in front of the Christmas tree taken with Robertson, Fife, Oliver and other CTV news people?...I think not. It is my hope that CTV will become the "official voice" of the Harper government. Fife has been fed lots of exclusives of late and he's been real fair overall, so has Duff...Also watch L. Ian Macdonald be more and more predominant too.
Might they know the fate that awaits CBC? (Their only political news competition).

Coming back on topic: McGuinty has about 0 chance of becoming PM...He broke too many promises and one's hoping Ontario would not back him up. He would not be Premier again if Tory had'nt screwed up I think.
Anywho, would be ready to move out if the people would be stupid enough to help that weazel to Ottawa...Bound my horse and "Charette" ;-)...Salut Joanne!

Oh gosh Joanne, thanks for the shiver that ran up my spine as I was trying to enjoy my am java... something that's not yet been banned in Ontario, although give it time.

The only thing worse than Bob Rae would be Dalton. Or... is it the other way around?

Yikes...

Well at least the global warming problem will be solved. He will just issue a government decree banning it.

Yeah, his 'majority' is based on 1 in 5 eligible voters, with 60% of Ontario voters staying home. His name won't bring anything to the Libs.

I hear you, Joanne! My first reaction was 'yay!' uber-weenie McGuinty out of my pantry, my car, my doghouse, my garden...then, like you, I contemplated possible successors and I knew it wouldn't be one of the few decent Fiberals in the lineup.

On the upside, if he thinks he has what it takes it would be a very bad thing for the LPC.

I'm picturing him trying to debate Harper...can't stop laughing...

btw Annie, I voted for Bob Rae in every online poll, was really hoping they'd choose him as leader...

I love this, and actually Joanne, a blogger to your blog suggested this might happen....it may have been me?

Bring on McGuinty into the federal mix....burst Kennedy's bubble, and let Harper(Baird, Flaherty, Clement) take their best shots....it will be a nice dance to witness to be sure.

Add to this a Mike Chong, or Peter VanLoan taking on a Smitherman or Dwight Duncan....and it looks VERY good for Conservatives.

Is this WK's idea?
How desperate are the Federal Libs?

Maybe not so desperate at all...
