This book looks like a winner!
It's hard not to think of 'Ban Everything' trend in Ontario when looking at the picture on the book cover.

Speaking of books, has anyone read John Grisham's "The Appeal" yet? If so, what did you think about the ending? I love the reviews at the end of that link.

I've thought about this title all day and it's just so true. How many times have schools had to change their playground equipment to something safer so little Johnny wouldn't fall off something and sue. A scraped knee used to just need a bandaid and a kiss to make it better.
Thanks for your thoughts here, Ruth.
Yes, it seems we are often afraid to allow our children to experience failure or unhappiness or even boredom. Then when they grow up they don't know what hit them.
Actually as disturbing as it in the long run, it always makes me laugh as I drive past the local playground and see kids with helmets, elbow pads and knees pads playing on the equipment. Whatever happen to the days like when we were growing up were your parents warned you a couple of times and then let you pull those books down on top of yourself. Your sure learned not to do that again, yes that is a personal experience I am talking about. What did I learn, do not climb up the book case. It tends to hurts. LMAO
Heck - I stepped on nails and got nails stuck in my heels from the home make playground equipment my Dad built - that would be banned, outlawed and he would most likely be thrown in jail today if anyone saw kids using that kind of equipment!!!! ha ha
I just heard about a homework ban on Global. Ah, poor kids.
No kid would be allowed to make mud pies now days either. Such a shame for any Mother to miss cleaning up that mess. Guess I'm really dating myself now.
Does a homework ban mean no studying? Wow children from Toronto could be up against a real disadvantagewhen competing with the rest of the world in University. They will have never learned how to study.
Ruth, can't kiss a hurt better, sexual abuse. These poor kids will grow up and wonder why they can't get or keep a job, and can't function in the real world.
Anyone catch Dick Cheyney's slam at algore last night. Said after meeting the Pope, he had to come and meet other infallible people at the press corps dinner, then said, yes it is getting warmer, but he calls it spring, and it will get much warmer, call it summer.
O/T but ... worth seeing

The latest on poor Brenda Martin.
Off topic again but Brenda Martin was just on ctv, speaking in spanish or whatever they speak in Mexico, handing over her crown to the new winner. Then she repeated that she will not sign any document to agree to serve jail time in Canada if she is found guilty tomorrow. She was very adamant, certainly not looking suicidal. Hope Lisa is enjoying her Mexican vacation.
She was very adamant, certainly not looking suicidal.
I saw that too. She seems pretty clear-thinking for a person who is supposedly so depressed. Hostile, even.
No decision till at least next week for Brenda.
Pope is at the UN giving a speech on Human Rights.
Had to go back and find your article on banning everything after I read the news that Dalton is banning all pesticide use in Ontario.
I feel sorry for anyone with weed allergies cause the hayfever will be in full force now.
They get so confused about herbicides and pesticides. It's a herbicide for weeds amd they really aren't a pest.
Wonder how we will keep the mosquitoes away now too so we don't get West Nile.
Oh, brother. Thanks for the heads-up, Ruth. I was hoping he might not actually keep this promise.
