Get her OUT OF HERE!

Mexico is pulling out all stops to extradite Brenda Martin:

"...Mexico just wants her out of the country as soon as possible..."

Gee, I wonder why?

"Ms. Tieleman believes it was delayed to allow time for a Canadian politician to travel to Guadalajara."

That is a pretty shocking allegation. Not only does it suggest the Mexican system is corrupt, which I believe, but also that the Canadian government is complicit with the corruption, which I do not believe. (assuming she is suggesting that the Canadian government already knows the verdict).

Or it could have something to do with the fact that she requested a translation of Monday's proceedings or otherwise she would have had her decision yesterday...

Link here cause I knew you'd ask:

"At the last minute there was a delay and we're told the delay had to do with a translation request that Brenda Martin herself made from Monday's public hearing, so it means another few days of waiting for Brenda Martin."

The attention given by the MSM to this entire issue is absolutely disgusting.

Martin is well fed , and not being tortured , yet the way the Liberals and media spin it you would think otherwise.

Where were the Liberals and the precious MSM when William Sampson was being brutally tortured in a Saudi prison ti an inch of his life ?

As I said ... disgusting !

I hope she is Thankful to be back in Canada at the end of this and hopefully she will recieve the medical help she obviously needs.
Sometimes you wonder if this would have been settled faster withoutthe interference from childhood friend Ms. Tieleman.

Joanne - you understand I am criticizing Tieleman, right?

Three points:
1. I don't know how much credence this umpteenth article by the same author who told us all about Ms. Martin's inability to speak Spanish (untrue), her suicidal tendencies (later denied), and her physical state being skin & bones (doubtful assessment).

2. That picture of Ms. Martin's illustrates perfectly her propensity for opening it too frequently, usually landing her into more difficulties.
There's a Spanish proverb she should have followed:
"En boca cerrada no entran moscas."
Loosely translated:
"No flies enter a closed mouth."

3. I wonder if she could be persuaded to go to another Spanish speaking country. Maybe she could browbeat Hugo Chavez.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Sorry, Gayle. I jumped to conclusions there. I've reread your comment and now I see what you were getting at. Thanks for clarifying that.

Ms. Martin's clai8ms that she needed a translator blah blah blah were certainly put to rest when you saw her yakking away in perfect fluent Spanish at her beauty pageant.

This lady is a con artist- that's why she is in jail. She is also a drug addict. She admitted she was an alcoholic and now she is addicted to uppers, downers, pain meds and injections given to her in jail.

Do you think Ms. Martin is going to want Canadians to now pay for her drug addictions if she returns to Canada?

I don't think the Liberals are so stupid to have fallen for this con job hook line and sinker 0- or the media. It is just to make political hay against the Conservatives who are thankfully not so easily rooked in.

Who gets her first, MDL or Newman.
Probably ctv as they have been paying for an extended vacation in Mexico for one of their own.

Well I hope she stays in Toronto, she wouldn't find life on the prairies too appetizing. She might have to work, and I don't think her whining would go over to well here.

Mexico doesn't want her, neither does most of Canada. Typical Liberal, if you whine long enough and play the pity card, you get a "get out of jail" card free. Enough.

That's the of the reasons why there is so little sympathy from me for this lady. She has consistently mis-represented the facts concerning her case and her condition.

The Mexicans are probably as happy as she is to be leaving the country soon. My guess is that if she is found guilty, she will be sentenced to time already served and quickly extradited to Canada.

I hope that when she arrives in Canada, she will at least show some class and express gratitude to the Canadian officials that have been working on her case, even though her behaviour had made it that much harder for them to move it forward.

I received some correspondence from Charles Rusnell, who has been following this story. I'm waiting for permission to post it, but it would back up Tielman's side of the story.

Not saying who I believe here - just saying that there is more information.

Anonymous said...

So, hypothetically...
If she gets sentenced to any time whatsover, and is offered to serve that time in a Canada prison, if she refuses, then what?
Does Mexico keep her?
Does Canada take her back and let her run free? ('Cause she said so!')
And/or
Is she brought back to Canada and thrown in jail anyway?
Just wondering...

Reid said...

I'm gonna laugh if she ends up staying in Mexico longer because she refuses extradition to Canada. Yup. Those Mexican prisons are WAY nicer than Canadian prisons. Perhaps she wants to try and defend her crown as queen of the jail in next year's pagent?

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Just for the record, Charles Rusnell did not give me permission to divulge the message he sent.

It seems he has little use for bloggers.

Anonymous said...

Rusnell basis for innocence of Brenda Martin is that Aalyn Waage the convicted felon and crook who conned thousands of people out of their savings says she is not guilty - anybody else think Waage is capable of telling the truth?

Anonymous said...

Gee Joanne - if he sent you a message - don;t you own the message - why do you need his permission to post it? Just wondering as I would have thought that you could post what he wrote to you. I posted what Roy Green emailed to me - maybe i was not supposed to???

Perhaps he has no use for bloggers because we have challenged some of the "facts" he has been presenting.

Anonymous said...

Rusnell may have more information but I wrote off Brenda as someone I cared about when Ms Tielman made this a bipartisan issue. Besides Brenda left Canada as a young woman and made her life in The US and Mexico. Why does she need us now. What Canadian politician? Is it McTeague or a Conservative. Conservatives lose no matter which politician is travelling to mexico.

Well, I always ask permission as a courtesy to the person who gave me the information.

However, what is strange is that he is apparently willing to share information with anyone who writes to him - unless you're a blogger.

He said if he had known I was a blogger, he wouldn't have replied.

Now I have an excellent relationship with many pundits and writers in MSM. I get along well with most of them, and have found them more than willing to take advantage of blogs as a forum to further the discussion of their columns.

I think Rusnell is missing the boat here, but that's his choice.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Latest report from Charles Rusnell here.

(I hope it's o.k. to post a link.)

Anonymous said...

Perhaps Rusnell is keeping the information for himself to use it in a book about Martin.

Or maybe he did not like being questioned about some of the "facts" in his columns which turned out to be unfounded. That is assuming he read some of the comments here.

In any event, I think it was unwise for Ms. Martin's lawyer to disclose (if it is indeed true) that "the Mexican and Canadian authorities have an agreement to extradite Brenda immediately."
This might suggest to some that due process is not being followed, that the awaited judge's decision is irrelevant, etc. All arguments that could be put forward by those who think they're experts in the matter.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Gabby, the whole thing is bizarre to me.

I'm sure that we don't know all the facts yet. Maybe we never will.

Thanks for clearing up the "permission" thing. I just wondered if it was some other reason.

A bit O/T. Did you know that you have hit the big time! That old fox, Red Tory has been lurking behind your door and has a post up where he and his band take you and those of us who comment to task for daring to challenge dear Brenda. He even points out spelling mistakes so that his loyal followers can then further slag Conservative women.

Of course, the spelling mistake was mine - which led to a great deal of hilarity and jocularity on the part of his merry band.

(any spelling mistakes in the above comment can be attributed to laziness on my part as I don't feel like checking the dictionary - Ha Ha)

Oh and for Gayle here is a link

I would suggest he (and many others in the MSM) don't like bloggers, because they challenge their "facts".

There was a time when people believed what a reporter wrote because they had no way of checking to see that it was not correct.

Having had reporters interview me and then reading what they actually wrote, I was often left wondering about the reporters hearing.

Now bloggers challenge what reporters write and say; often causing that individual to backtrack or to look like a fool when the real facts come out.

I cannot imagine that bloggers are liked by the mainstream journalists, which would most likely explain his reaction!

Keep up the GREAT WORK Joanne!

Boy the heartfelt comments here - disturbing.

I suppose you prefer she rot in a Mexican jail.

She's got attention because of CTV and her family - other families with people in prison in other countries should do the same.

Unbelievable, really.

"I'm sure that we don't know all the facts yet. Maybe we never will."

You're right. If/when Ms. Martin's case is finally "resolved" there will probably be another urgent matter to capture the media's and consequently the general public's attention.
So Ms. Martin's case will likely be relegated to the dust heap of history - unless there's a book and movie deal to keep it in our collective memory a while longer. After all, the all-news, all-the-time cycle has to be fed.

Ha Ha - good one.

By the way Joanne, OT again.I hope you are enjoying your weather today.

Just so all of you who do not live in Alberta can have a little fun and give thanks on this Sunday, here is a "link" to see what I am seeing outside right now. Just click on any of the little camera for a glimpse at Alberta's weather on April 20! Check out the temperatures under the pictures.

Maybe Brenda will want to come to Alberta to live when she gets back here.

Regardless of how this turns out, the majority of canadians will look at Brenda as an ungrateful person. What Ms Tieleman believes is of no concern.
If Brenda is found guilty, does that make Ms Tieleman an accomplice because she supports her. Both women will be tarnished in many eyes.
Wait for the book, and some tape recording made without knowledge to get at the truth.

When Rusnell doesn't want questions asked and he doesn't want to be quoted that should be a big clue that his stories are suspect and maybe can't stand scrutiny.

From story in Edmonton Journal Feb.15 2003 by Charles Rusnell about Brenda Martin
http://www.thewantednovel.com/edjournal.html
"It looked like a friggin parking lot outside that house most days," said Sandy Smith, who asked that her real name not be used. She still lives in Vallarta and fears the Mexican federal police. The Toronto native worked as Waage's chef and lived in Castillo Cristina for 10 months beginning in July 2000.

So in spite of her proclaimed fear of the Mexican Federal police as stated in 2003 she continued to live in Mexico until her arrest on Feb.17 2006 by these same Mexican police - can you help people who can't help themselves.
What doesn't ring true here?

That's interesting, Gabby. Thanks for letting me know. I've been having problems too. Different ones, but things are not quite right. I'll have to contact Blogger.

Actually, what he told me would support the case for Brenda's side so I'm perplexed that he wouldn't want it published but perhaps he is saving it for a future column.

No, I prefer that her supporters not make inflammatory statements like "if anything happens to her, her blood is on Stephen Harper's hands."

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Robert Fife was just on CTV's QP saying that the Government probably would have preferred that the decision on Brenda's case be dealt with this past Friday rather than next week, since it may end up overshadowing the Three Amigos meeting.

So that certainly contradicts Charles Rusnell's report of what Deb Tielman said...

"So that certainly contradicts Charles Rusnell's report of what Deb Tielman said..."

I tried to find the article where what Deb Tieleman is quoted by Gayle as saying: "Ms. Tieleman believes it was delayed to allow time for a Canadian politician to travel to Guadalajara."

First of all, I stumbled upon this:
http://www.visionglobalmedia.com/press-release-1.htm
OR
http://tinyurl.com/5e4d2q
where a "Debra Tieleman" is the president of the outfit, so I wonder if they're one and the same. Just wondering, and I don't know what to make of it.

Secondly, I was reminded of a talk show host talking about his latest interview with Dan McTeague, where McTeague apparently said that PM Harper was sure to push for the resolution of the Martin case because he didn't want it to overshadow the Three Amigos meeting. I did not hear the actual interview, and considering the source and the intention, I take it as more unfounded speculation on McTeague's part.

Perhaps, then, the "Canadian politician" mentioned in Tieleman's statement, which I still don't know where it came from, was referring to PM Harper - except he's going to New Orleans, not to Guadalajara.

Gayle, for once I agree with you; I don't believe Tieleman. I also don't believe Brenda Martin... particularly after seeing the beauty pageant video on MDL. Some prison eh?
She is exactly like all those self centered, whining, ungrateful people who went straight to a camera to gripe when they got off the boat from Lebanon.

I must say again. What the heck is happening to the other 20 Canadians held in Mexico with no attention whatsoever? What is happening to Mr. Celil in China? Those are stories! Calling all MSM... where are you?

Yeah, May. I do it off and on. The trolls are out and about so I need to do that today.

Unfortunately, the program that alerts me to comments waiting in the queue wasn't working properly for a while.

Sorry for the delay.

Just a suggestion, but deleting the usual Lib trolls might be a good start to reducing crap.

Not that I'm mentioning any names.
