Latest on Brenda Martin here.
Mike Duffy called Brenda's wait in prison 'tragic' on tonight's show. Oh pull-eze.
'Tragic', Duff? Usually we reserve that for a fallen soldier or a murdered child.
But Craig Oliver made up for that at the end of the show: "I don't remember a Canadian in trouble abroad who's had more attention than this woman has. I think she should stop complaining about every .."
And then Jane interrupted to remind us what a hard time poor Brenda has had.
Funny how CTV didn't post that clip tonight.

I was somewhat relieved to FINALLY hear some in the media state what many of us have been trying to say. Brenda has had her 1500 minutes of fame - time to move on.
Of course giggles had to say how sorry she felt for her. Give me a friken break!!! Now especially since we find out that Brenda herself caused the judge's delay in his decision by demanding translated documents.
But of course, Deb says it is Steven Harpers fault.
RIIIGGGHHHHTT....
Don't be suprised if Deb ends up running for the Liebrals in the next election. She would fit in quite nicely with the Liberals.

Exactly. I'm not sure what's with that woman. Delusions of grandeur, perhaps? I bet the Mexican authorities can't wait to get rid of her.

Oh, yeah. Classic entitlement and arrogance. She'd be perfect.
This as been played as much as it can be, but now the media, after making it a top issue, have to keep reporting on it.
Notice how in the beginning, CTV allowed comments on this, and then as the comments started turning against Brenda, they shut them down? Funny that.

For some reason, they keep defending her.
Tonight was the first chink in the armour with Craig Oliver's comment.
Craig, I forgive you for any bone-headed comment you ever made before! You redeemed yourself tonight.
Hopefully come Tuesday when her verdict comes down that'll be the last we hear of her but I have a feeling we will hear more from her for a while. Even if she gets to come home. You can bet there will be interviews on all networks. I just hope she will have the decency to thank the government for helping her.
I won't hold my breath for that one though.
I have thought for some time that a woman who hasn't seen her "friend" for 32 years has an alterior motive to her rabid, over the top defense. What better way to get into politics than to have name recognition.
Far be it from me to suggest that someone would do this, but...time will certainly tell. If she does not run in the next election, I will be the first to apologize for thinking it.
Brenda demanded a translation of her court proceedings and she was told this would only delat the judge's verdict till next week if she insisted - she insisted and the verdict is delayed.
By the way she is speaking at her queen pageant in pretty good Spanish - she told people earlier in this saga she didn't understand Spanish -remmeber.
I have a few relatives who work in the corrections dept. If she is convicted, for their sake, I hope Mexico keeps her.
Hey, at least I know what I'm going out as this year for Halloween!
Get a little silver brenda wig, long dangly earrings, and just blugger away all night ;-)
I don't think she really wants to get out of jail. She would have to support herself. She speaks spanish very well, yet needs a translator,( which kept her there longer) She has stated she will not serve time in a cdn jail. Will Mexico deport her for being in the country illegally.
Would you hire her if she comes back to Canada. Will her -friend- support her till she gets a job, will her mother. Bet she ends up on welfare and keeps trying to get attention.
With her record could she run for the liberal party, Dion needs women.
Not only have the CTV reports tended to overdramatize Ms. Martin's situation, but also Charles Rusnell, the reporter who's been writing all those articles about Ms. Martin, (see the list here: http://labs.daylife.com/journalist/charles_rusnell)
has misinformed the public by saying that she could not understand the proceedings because she does not speak Spanish. That has turned out to be false.
He also painted a picture of a "skin-and-bones" Brenda Martin wasting away because of all the hardship she's going through.
That's the way Roy Green portrayed her, based on Rusnell's depiction.
Instead, what one can see in Thursday's report by Lisa Laflamme on the CTV News, Ms. Martin is very combative, speaks Spanish rather fluently, and seems to be very well-informed about the legal proceedings, refusing to sign those that she deems disadvantageous for her.
She doesn't seem to fit the profile of a poor bewildered victim.
The interbred media of Canada has sure shown just how horrible news reporting has become with this story. No details, no investigations. Has one single reporter even gone down to Mexico to look around for the truth? Since that might take a few weeks, i guess not. It is so far more important to pick and choose the details and come to the conclusion that, it is, somehow, the fault of the Canadian Government. IE US, Canadians. If you decide to go and live in another country for 10 years and associate with criminals, don't blame MY COUNTRY or MY GOVERNMENT because you don't like where you ended up.
Brenda Martin said she will have lots to say when she gets out. Remember who her visitors have been. Paul Martin, Dan McTeague, CBC (the ones who fed questions to the Liberals at the Mulroney Kangaroo Court procedings). Yes I guess it will be next weeks BREAKING NEWS SCANDLE played 4 times an hour for a week or so.
Has anyone else noticed that for a person whose supposed to be suffering the rigors of Mexican prison Brenda looks remarkably well, tanned, nicely dressed, make-up??
There's something wrong with that picture.
Brenda Martin said she will have lots to say when she gets out.
Yep. She has nothing but contempt for the Government. And MSM will lap it up.
Lisa La Flamme also reported that the Government has been working ona transfer arrangement with the Mexicans so that she can be transferred back to Canada to serve her sentence. The main problem however seems to be that Branda is refusing to agree.
As Lisa Laflamme said in her report Martin is orchestrating everything. She is pulling all the strings like a puppeteer or a Hollywood director.
In the mean time we wait for the explanation ,after being fired, of a 27 thousand dollar severance payment after 10 months work at minimum wage of $8.33 an hour according to Deborah Tieleman. She then put ten thousand dollars in Alyn Waage's bank account and later money found its' way back in Martin's account. Do we know that authorities were able to trace all the money transactions with this duo?
Of course the fact that a crook and liar like Alyn Waage says Martin is innocent is not really a character endorsement to be believed by anyone particularly Mexican authorities - and do you blame them?
O/T, but any thoughts about Harper in a tux, ladies?
Has anyone got the clip of Brenda speaking fluent spanish, wish they would post it on u-tube, also the items reporting she is thin and haggard. Somebody has lot of explaining to do. Wonder if Craig will bring it up tomorrow.
Maybe she asked for translations to verify what they were saying about her, (that she understood)
And remember, all her photo ops are with liberals.
What if they find her quilty as charged. Would she really stay in a Mexican jail vs a cdn one. Or is that just another of her lies.
Mary T. - New post up. Check it out.
