Back to the sea? (April Fool!)

Well he was a fish out of water anyway.

Good luck, Ken Dryden.

* * * *

Update: Several of my readers suspect that this is an April Fool's joke... If so, well done CTV National Newswatch!!

On the other hand, please give this some thought, Ken. It's a great idea!

And Gerry Nicholls makes the point that there really isn't anything special about today anyway.

He sure was like a fish out of water, glad to see him going. Same can be said for Dion.

No, no. no!! We love Dion!!!

Geesh - they are all leaving.

Actually, Joanne, you asked the question yesterday about why Deb Tielman (sp?) is championing Brenda's cause after 32 years of no contact.

Well - the Libs need candidates, women would be better. Who would know who she was prior to this, now everyone knows her name.

My prediction - she will be running for the Liberal party in the next election.

Given Dion's penchant for appointing candidates, she won't even have to go through that nasty nomination process.

I agree with anon...april fools joke

Warren has his April Fool's joke on his site, but I'm hoping CTV wouldn't print a mistake like this.

That was a nasty April Fools joke for Leaf fans...my hubby took it real hard...almost as bad as missing the playoofs!

I hope he is a better GM than an MP. He was a spendthrift windbage as an MP.

Oh Oh a joke!

True or not the Libs have set themselves up for all kinds of 'Fools' jokes!
SDA has a good one...
And I hear Dion is going to announce that he is ready to 'take down' the Harper government...

oh wait...

I wonder if this is another April Fools joke - I kind of doubt it but you never know - The Toronto Star might do it to their readers?

"OTTAWA–Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Conservatives have taken a 10-point lead over the Liberals as Stéphane Dion's unpopularity with voters plumbs new depths, according to a Toronto Star poll released today.

It's a fake. Check out the "CTV" website address.

Cool blue - That's awesome. So it's National Newswatch's brainchild. Heh.

I'm surprised they could highjack the CTV format like that. Perhaps it's a joint effort.

I sure hope that Star article isn't a joke, Alberta Girl!

Ken Dryden was an unmitigated disaster as president of the Maple Leafs - that's when there downward spiral started.
This has to be April Fool's joke or the Maple Leaf Organization is the joke.

Poor Dryden. This would be a lose-lose situation, going from one losing team to another one.

I think the Laefs were the butt of that joke...Libs wouldn't miss him.
Leafs don't need any more bad luck.

new motto for Canada

Canada - where the no longer need ONE day to celebrate fools.

Canada - where it's hard to tell the difference between Liberal policy and April Fool's Day

Ontario - where that April Fools Day feeling lasts all year long - Thanks Dalton!

National Newswatch did a similar thing last year. The web address was ctv.nationalnewswatch.com/... and as I recall, they spoofed a story about Ben Mulroney planning to take on Justin Trudeau in the next election. They're really very good at these pranks!

Dave, thanks for the memory jog. Heh.

Note to self: Do not believe any news items on April Fools' Day.
