Breaking - NATO agrees to 1,000 more troops in Southern Afghanistan: CTV. (They just changed the link. France has agreed to more as well!)
More here: NATO to meet Canada's demand for more troops in southern Afghanistan - CBC.
As an aside, I have never been more proud of our Prime Minister than when watching him this morning on CBC Newsworld in the press conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
Harper was so articulate and handled himself with such quiet confidence. I tried to imagine Stephane Dion in that position...

Do you know where I can find the whole video? There is only a short clip on CTV that cuts the Secretary general off in mid-sentance and doesn't show Karzai talking at all.
Of course the usual "talking points" in the comments about it being about "oil", and "we support the troops but not the war" and my favorite "Harper knew long ago he was getting help from the US, this is all about making himself look good on the world stage.
Thankfully, the majority of the comments are supportive and saying how proud they are of Stephen Harper.
Harper is the most "primeministerial" Prime Minister Canada has had in a very long time. I'm proud he's my PM as well as my MP.
May, I'll let you know if I find anything.
Great pic of the PM here.
For May:

Thanks, Gabby!!
While the Libs are all in a tizzy, our PM makes great news on the international level.
Glad this is getting coverage if only to contrast the silly Libs.
The media has been too pre- occupied with Dion.
