My son talked me into /begged/cajoled until I agreed to watch a DVD he had rented - I Am Legend.
Not sorry I saw it. Also not sorry I followed his advice about watching it during daylight!
Spoiler alert! There is an alternate ending. Please tell me which you prefer and why?
And what were they thinking?

Have you not seen the Charelton Heston version from 1971? "The Omega Man." I love this version.
Will Smith's take is #3 actually. It was first made in Spain although I've never seen this version.
The theatrical ending was crap!!! The alternate ending on the DVD is the correct one.

Yeah, definitely.
Will Smith is god...
But WTF, how they going to kill the dog....
Did the movie biz not learn from Turner & Hooch?
PS: For the record I am 27 and I grew up with the fresh prince. Big Willie from Philly can do no wrong.
Killing the dog was a big mistake.
This ending was far better. I was disappointed with the ending I saw in the theater, and now I know why.
Thanks for getting this out. I didn't realize there was another ending and liked this one much more.
If you get a chance you should really read the book.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I think I'll try to get it from the library if it's available.
Best quote: "There is no God!!!"
So true. So true.

If you believe that, then I think you missed the point of the movie.
The book is a quick read, only 100 pages or so.

That's good, because I'm way behind in my reading list and many are borrowed books.
Regarding the alternate ending, my son mentioned how much it changes your attitude towards the vampires - that you begin to sympathize with them. Interesting.

No, I haven't seen it yet. Must do.
Sadly, Heston passed away this weekend.
