And Dalton wants to talk about FBS??
No wonder - anything to get the coffee klacth chat away from this stuff.

Yep. God is scary.

Maybe it's just some conservative taking one for the team?

All kidding aside this is unbelievable. I can't believe Dalton has let it finally come to this. It's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better, and it's likely going to happen soon.

Yeah, and check out Steve Janke's latest post on Working Families. Some interesting stuff going on there too.

Did anyone see an evening news show that covered the bullying of CHCH by McGuinty thug Chin? I saw absolutely zip.

I saw absolutely zip.

Exactly. Either they have been totally intimidated, or else their lawyers advised them not to report the story.

A sad day for freedom of the press in Canada.

Here's my issue: on Day 1 of the occupation they should have come down hard on the protesters and kicked them out.

It is hard-handed, but its smart. It prevents the situation from escalating.

The problem is that the police know now that if shit hits the fan and something happens, that they will be hung out to dry.

S.O. - Yes, Dalton's pandering seems to have accomplished nothing.

John Tory said that he would have refused to negotiate as long as the land was occupied. That seems reasonable.

Dalton "pass the buck" McGuinty publicly said more than once that the issue is a federal matter.

Maybe he thinks because he's campaigning he can shirk his responsibilities. I don't think so.

You know, this may just just be the issue that turns things around and cost him the election.

Ummm..... Master Dolton Sir, could we have the rule of law back? Please Sir?

Dalton insists that it is a federal responsibility, which it is. The problem is that the federal government has no authority on the ground because the OPP answer to the provincial government and not the federal one.

Responsibility without authority is ineffective.

Souternontario, I get your point. Why haven't the feds and the province ironed this out yet? As far as I'm concerned, both levels are to blame for allowing this matter to fester since Caledonia.

McGuinty and his Liberals are good at telling us what is good for us and spending our money. But when it comes to solving real problems, he just can't seem to come up with solutions.

Who is the MP for that area...do we ever hear anything from that rep?If McGuinty keeps falling back on that clumsy excuse("It's the Feds") we should be hearing more.

You can try to twist and turn facts anyway you want to promote your personal hatred for anyone and anything not right wing - but Harper is sitting on his ass about this - it's a Federal issue and the longer Harper takes to deal with it the more it costs Ontario taxpayers for policing costs.

Harper doesn't care about natives and Harper would like to see McGuinty lose.

Harper should get off his arrogant "big" butt and do something - it's a Federal issue!

Wrong, my friend. the OPP is a provincial police force.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

That's right. Harper has no jurisdiction over the OPP.

But he does have jurisdiction over the military. And if the Premier of Ontario requests, as did Bourassa during Oka, he can send them in.

That's right. Dalton only needs to ask. And why don't you think he isn't asking for military help? Think about it.
