In other news, hell has frozen over

Busy day ahead.

For a change of pace, check out Red Tory's thread - Wake me when the election fever passes.

Red and I actually agree on something (briefly). Strange times indeed.

Political bloggers are tired of election debates?!? RT noted that the public is not eager for an election. That is the problem. Once they are eager for an election, that is when voter turnout will increase. That is the true democratic reform that is needed -- public participation

Darn Joanne, you are such wife and mother with all that common sense. Stop it, your making me feel inadequate. LMAO

Kingston - ??? ;)

John, yes. The public needs to bear some responsibility in this. We need public participation to make democracy work. I think a lot of people just take it for granted.

ahh Joanne, I was complimenting your common sense in regards to the post, i.e. wifes and mothers usually equal common sense.

Hey, RT may have his faults (we all do, of course), but he does have a mind of his own (witness his supporting the extension of the anti-terrorism legislation).

BTW, sorry to be off topic, but here's some info and links about the latest Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan. Regardless of where one stands on the war, I would hope we can all agree that Canada was a better nation because of Cpl Hornburg, and is now a poorer nation without him.

lol! So, you've learned that a 'happy wife is a happy life', eh?

Brian, you're right on both counts.

Yes, even though Red and I are usually scrapping, I do admire his intelligence and command of the English language. Everything is original and totally his own POV. And yes, he is open-minded on many (not all) subjects.

He has a few quirks, but none so bad that I would totally ignore his blog; unlike some others...

And yes, we must not become so jaded by the number of causalities that we forget to remember and appreciate each one, and their own unique contribution to our country and to the cause of democracy in the world.

Cpl. Nathan Hornburg - Thank you.
