Desperate times call for desperate tactics

In case you missed it, Christina Blizzard gives us her take on the attempt by McGuinty handler Ben Chin to stifle freedom of the press - "Grits try to change the channel".

And yet, over at Kinsella's blog he's doing is best to spin John Tory except the more I read Kinsella of late the more I like John Tory.

OH and by the way have you seen the latest ad that has the union-supported Family Coaltion's support of MMP.

If the unions back it, it's got to be bad for taxpayers and voters.

You want a health care user fee? The Liberals Health Care Premium! Break that down to five or six doctor visits a year and it ends up at least a $100.00 a visit. Let's spin it that way folks. That's the reality!

I agree with the comments about Kinsella. I used to like his blog, but all he can do now is condemn John Tory. All the more reason to vote Conservative in Ontario.

I also agree with the comments regarding Kinsella. I liked reading his blog because he seemed reasonable and fair - unusual traits for a Liberal! With this provincial election, he is doing his best to throw anything at John Tory, and it is just making him look desperate and silly.

Kinsella = paid Liberal shill.

No surprise.

Don't read it if you don't like it.

Agree with the other two posts. Liberal or not Kinsella's usually an intelligent read. These days....nope. He's spinning so fast that the only reason could be because Tory's a threat. Who better than Kinsella(once on the inside of a Tory campaign) to know that. Tory's coming off really patient, even-tempered and believable.

Even if I don't agree with the faithbased schoolstuff, four more years is worse than beginning to talk about expanding the public school system.

If Torontonians were smart and wanting to send David Miller a message, wouldn't a great strategy be to vote for Tory this election?
Just to even the score for Tory.

Imagine Miller having to work with Tory and vise versa. Could be a win-win for Toronto.

While they're at it the message to McGuinty would be....priceless.

Oh well. That's it then. They've lost me for good. Sorry Lord Kitchener, you're on your Own.

I'm working on another post about that. There is so much fear-mongering about this it's ridiculous. We're talking about a very low percentage of the total student population.

Good one, Sandy! I knew you'd come through!

Hey it's been several minutes, don't you have a new post about Caledonia up yet? ;)

Heh. It's been a busy week. Lots going on out here in the Wild East.

But seriously, I did actually take a break this afternoon and got out to a lake; watched the mirrored reflections of the trees in the stillness of the water. A gorgeous crisp fall afternoon in Ontario.

It's not always so bad living here.

You live in an especially nice area. I wish I'd been located in Ayr instead of craptastic Windsor. But that's another story...

Anyway, I'm just kind of amazed at the plethora of stuff you're posting here on the election. I'm not following it very closely, but can imagine how much hard work is involved.

It will be nice when you get back to the usual grist for your mill once this fray is over and done with. Aren't you going to be pissed when/if Tory goes down in flames?

Nah; even a Liberal minority would be better than what we have now. Every seat lost for McGuinty is a victory for moi.

I see the Dippers as allies. Politics is so nuts.

Yes, we go to a great driving range out there. Gorgeous country. But I love the lakes.

nyway, I'm just kind of amazed at the plethora of stuff you're posting here on the election.

I could post way more if I had the energy. I have stuff in draft form. I don't know if it will see the light of day.

I know you're disappointed that I haven't given you much fodder for a decent flame war lately. I hope to get back into it after the election.

And who knows? Maybe the Quebec by-elections will be inspiring enough to pull me away from this hypertensive crap.

You make me mental with some of the stuff you write, but I'd never consider that a "flame war" of any kind. Heck, I wouldn't be commenting here if that were the case, would I? I just love that SoCon stuff... it's such delicious fun. But I recognize you've got other, more imperative axes to grind at the moment. I'm just really impressed by the work you're doing even though I might well be on the opposite side of the issues (or maybe not) if it was a battle that had relevance to me.

It's funny, but not altogether surprising, that you'd see the NDP as allies... strange bedfellows and all that. Entirely in keeping with the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" school of thought that's not uncommon in politics.

Anyway, it's interesting to watch as a sort of impartial observer and spectator who's not entirely familiar with all the issues and has some connection with Ontario (having lived there for almost 7 years) but no terribly great affection for the place.

What's funnier is that Joanne and I voted for Bob Rae in the early '90's. Stubborn bastards that we are, we couldn't stand the arrogance of David Peterson.

I also voted for Chretien (twice). Once more than I voted for Mulroney.
