However, there was an audio story by reporter Al Sweeney in Caledonia about a protest that had just started this morning at 7:30 a.m.
Since I haven't seen anything on the net, I'll transcribe the notes I jotted down:
About 35 to 40 Six Nations protesters have now shut down a completely separate building project about a kilometre from the original one at Douglas Creek Estates. Some of the protesters are wearing masks and camouflage. They have warrior flags and are using yellow tape to secure the area.
This project was shut down briefly a few weeks ago by native protesters. The builder agreed to meet with natives to discuss the issues, but apparently got nowhere.
He then started up his project again, but it was shut down this morning.
Police are there to "keep the peace" according to the reporter.

I'll update this as more news becomes available.
5:00 p.m. Update - 900 CHML has reported an injury at the occupation site (Stirling Developments). No links yet.
5:30 CHML reports that someone confronted the natives and then was taken by ambulance to hospital.
6:00 CHCH - Owner was inspecting house; jumped; hit with plank; taken to hospital (unconscious).
Natives tell a different story. More when available.

Best news story of the day for sure.
Not that's it's good news.
Certainly the most interesting.
I really hope this is the one that blows McSlimey's gang out of the water for good.
Now if only JTory has the nuts and the good sense NOT to blow it!!

Things sure have changed since my paternal grandfather's day (he was a member of the RCMP). I thought it was still the job of the police to enforce the law. How naive of me.
....VCR ??

I told you I was technically challenged!!!
Joanne -- It is now on National Newswatch (5:15pm)
Thanks, Sandy. It's the Ben Chin clip, right?
I haven't seen anything except from Hamilton about the new occupation, and nothing at all on the net.
Right. It's just the clip with the complaint byi the CHCH announcer about Chin at the very end of the clip. But, National Newswatch actually has a sentence saying its at the end of the clip -- encouraging people to watch the whole thing. Which is good.
Yeah, that's a really good point, Sandy.

It is their job to enforce the law, the result of which keeps the peace. That is why they are sometimes called Peace Officers.
But I think they have a lot of discretion in how they go about it. Sometimes they infiltrate crowds and even position themselves with potentially violent people to be able to respond more quickly.
Why do they have masked rock carriers at political protests where masked thugs showed up earlier, but not at a standoff with masked thugs?
