Green Plan Fall-out

No surprises with John Baird's environmental plan. He had no choice but to straddle that difficult line between trying to please the environmentalists and safeguarding the economy. Of course he received few kudos for his efforts.

I concur with Chantel Hebert, Don Martin and the incredibly insightful ChuckerCanuk that now is the time for the opposition to either put forward a motion of non-confidence or forever hold their flicking peace.

Speaking of Dalton, one wonders what climate-change nightmare is in store for us:

“It falls short of Canadian expectations. I think we can reach further and we intend to do that here in Ontario when we put out our climate change plan,” he said at the opening of the Green Living Show at Exhibition Place.

Gulp! With that let-them-eat-tofu majority government of his, there's no telling what might happen to this poor province's economy.

Saturday Update: Here Lies Kyoto; Dead and Unloved. (Not the dog)

And from the Goracle:
Al Gore says Tories' Green Plan 'A Fraud'.

Mr. Gore acknowledged he is not a Canadian citizen and said he has “no right to interfere in your decisions.”

- Then don't!!!

Baird fights back.

Jo,

You have to love the comment from yyc over at chucks place:

"FlICK off Dion. Force an election or leave the adults to govern."

Classic

Yeah, I can just hear all those lefties who are crying for Kyoto holler even louder when their cost of living goes up because of all this climate change crap. Higher energy bills? Wahhhhh! I can't afford it! Then a new social program will have to be implemented to spare special interest groups and low-income Canadians from having to pay extra. And so it goes on and on and on....

What a screwed up country.

People have to realize that if Dion/May ever gets in, the hysteria and ridiculous policies we are hearing about now will be much worse and way out of control. You can count on it.

Chretien probably told Dion way back when, "What are you, nuts? There's no way we can implement any of your ideas". And that's why the Liberals did nothing. Dion's living in a dream world, but it's turning out to be Canadians' worst nightmare.

I am so fed up with Liberals. Can't wait for the local Lib to come knocking at my door during the next election so I can give him a huge piece of my mind.

I'm sure he or she will have a few seconds to spare.

You can try to hide under "Anonymous", but it doesn't hide the fact that you are a (liberal) jerk. I know, you can't help it. It's just your nature. Poor thing.

Sticks and stones my minivan wielding friend – sticks and stones.

Jerk? Why, yes I am. Thanks for noticing. Liberal, though? Must you use such personal insults? I’m no Liberal. I’m but a mere Canadian who leans solidly to the left. It’s simply a shame that the Liberal party does not.

While I’m not a Liberal, you, though, will continue to be a simpleton.

Are you kidding me? All the opposition parties are so squashed there at the left end that they're recycling their own hot air.

The CPC has comfortably taken over the middle.

Unfortunately, we have no longer have a right-wing party in Canada, which does limit one's choice.

If we focus on small domestic issues ,true, CPC no longer can be labeled 'right wing'. The Libs took us so far to the left that to turn a ninety sends shock waves thru the country(hence the spend crazy budget, moderate enviro plan)Can you imagine what a 180 would do? It is wisdom that keeps CPC from being right wing. Looking at the bigger picture what we have in Harper and the CPC is a strong foreign policy with backbone, support for a respectable military, and recognition and respect for families. Remind yourself that moderate is better than ANYTHING the Libs would do to Canada.
