This is just sad

I'm sure that whatever the truth is regarding Dona Cadman's disclosure to author Tom Zytaruk about an alleged million dollar life insurance offer, she likely never expected the story to cause her husband's memory to be used by a Liberal MP and CBC 'comedians' as the butt of jokes and satire.

I wonder if she regrets any of this?

Update: Phantom Observer has MP Todd Russell's whole poetic offering here. Well, maybe that's how they get their jollies out there in Labrador.

Trust a Liberal to use the dead for their smearing purposes - that way they can't be found out.

Chuck was a good man -he had principals - unlike the Liberals who are now trying to exploit him.

It shows how low this parliment has sunk.

If I were Dona Cadman, I would be very sad that my husband has now become a laughingstock because the Liberals want to smear the Tories.

She should sue them for slander.

I am sure she does. She seems very naive.
I still haven't heard why Paul martin said nothing for all this time, if this was really a scandal. Is it becuase he knew people would ask him about the real scandal? Belinda and her cabinet position.

I think I have a winner for my Douche Bag of the Year Award now.

Did anyone really expect anything else from the CBC. Here is the 22 minutes clip on youtube.

Ardvark, thanks for posting the link.

The actual clip is even more disgusting and tasteless than the article described.

I agree it's sad, it's sick. How low can the Liberals and their MSM for their smearing games and not be accountable for it. On the back of a deceased man at that trying to ruin reputations on unfounded accusations.
It has to stop. Shame on them!

she trusted the author of the book. The author stops the presses and takes the controversial bit out and still no light is shined on this guy or Paul Martin.....why?

I found the poem read by the MP insulting...not funny at all.

Joanne,

More proof of how sick these people are.

It is a good thing the CBC added the laugh track to that skit because I doubt many people would really laugh at that crap.

Perhaps Dona Cadman would be so offended at how the Liberals spun this that she'd publicly say so on her blog or in a public statement?

Chuck Cadman's last vote as an MP was to support the Liberals to prevent the defeat of their government. This is the Thanks he gets from the Liberals and the CBC. Do they have no shame!! I feel very sad for the memory of Chuck Cadman. Canadians know right from wrong and the Cadman family deserve better than this.

I liked the 22 Minutes skit right up to the point where they said, "Will they call your widow a liar after you are dead?" - "Yes! There will be no acceptance of responsibility and no-one will return your call."

That was just low. The Widow in question is so confident of Mr. Harper's integrity on this point that she is running for his party. Mr. Harper is so confident that the Liberals are the liars, that he is suing for libel.

That's why I stopped watching 22 Minutes. They used to be balanced and didn't ever sink to blatant partisanship. For about the last 4 years they have been much more harsh on the Conservatives than on any other party.

I've given up on Air Farce for much the same reasons.

Rick Mercer, on the other hand, gives it out equally for the most part.

Of course the real issue here is poor taste. Appallingly poor taste. It reminds me of when Air Farce did a skit on Princess Diana after she died. Again it was in very bad taste.

the bottom-line is that we had a Liberal MP and make fun of it all in that idiotic poem....how can anyone take the Liberals seriously anymore?

And today's question period saw a very hyper Dion getting cute with the questions and a very confident Harper responding and giving it back to him.
