Bill Casey, won't you please stay home? (With Update)

Well, in any case you may want to reconsider your trip after reading this.

- On the other hand, I don't blame you for wanting to get a little sun.

(Update - A reader informs me the meeting will be in Ottawa. Well, that should help reduce his carbon footprint.)

* * * *
Big Update: Liberal MP calls for probe into 'leaked' report on jailed Canadian. That would be this.

McTeague calls it a 'privacy' issue. The real problem likely is that he doesn't think references to beauty pageants, fries and soda are going to win her much sympathy.

So who's being conned now?

Ha HA Yes, isn't it interesting how all these non-government people feel the need to go to VISIT Brenda - I wonder if she were held in a Russian jail if they would all be so quick to go.

Its something like holding a global warming conference in Bali

Another make believe scandal and smear blowing up in the liberals face.

What I want to know is, who is paying for Bill Casey's hand-holding session?

Hope it really blows up in their face on Monday when the Liberal MP's take all the letters and e-mails supporting Ms Martin to Parliament to make a scene.

Well nice of the Globe to print the other side of the story finally.

So, can the lefties get back to whining about Dion now? Or will they try some other "get Harper" trick? Think Dion might be too busy putting out fires in his own party to bother with PM Harper.

I just caught a bit of the Michael Coren show just now. Dan McTeague said something about this Parliament possibly lasting another year!

I can't imagine Bob Rae going along with that.

Don't tell him to stay home. I live in his riding ... I don't want him here either!

lol! Last two comments are a hoot!

What if he lost his passport and got detained, and was thrown in jail, and someone had to come to try to get him out...

Casey was on Joe Cannon show on 940 Montreal this morning along with Deb Tieleman at approx. 10:35 A.M.
Casey is going to meet the Mexican ambassador in Ottawa to discuss Martin case.
So don't hold your breath for anything.

Oh, poor Bill. No fun in the sun then?

Steve Rennie (The Canadian Press) actually asked for documents verifying the governments claim to many visits with Ms. Brenda?
We have a real journalist at CP!!

Maybe this will start a trend amongst msm....nah

Oh, poor Dan McTeague!

So now Ms. Martin's privacy rights have been violated?
Who splashed her story all over the MSM - press, TV, radio?
Who made sure her name was on practically every news report?
And which parties continuosly accuse the government of secrecy, lack of transparency, and unwillingness to release documents under the freedom of information requests?
So now that the government releases information, it's a violation of Ms. Martin's privacy?
A little consistency would be welcome.

Oh! the hypocrisy!

Ya just gotta laugh!!!

They will most likely call for an inquiry into who gave the press reporter the info.

Be careful what you ask for Danny-boy, you just might find out you have been snookered.

PS. Great post title!

Great point, Gabby! I was thinking about that myself this morning.

PS. Great post title!

Heh. Thanks.

funny how you believe everything the press says when it suits your needs.

It would be poetic justice if Brenda Martin would turn around and sue Dan McTeague for splashing the fact that she is a jail bird all over the MSM and filled the TV"s with her picture.
I suggest she should get big dollars out of McTeague since she could claim she will have difficulty finding employment since McTeague has told the world of her jail record.
