Akin to CanWest

Update: Confirmation received from the Star. (o.k. - Not the best source but it will have to do.)

Funny the difference a few days can make.

Mmm... I'm trying to imagine David Akin as a Global National reporter.

But as a National Post correspondent? I'm afraid that CTV environment may have contaminated him.

Well, we'll see.

Update: Warren K. chimes in here.

I would like wish for the best for David Akin. I first found out about reading blogs on the CTV blogging site. David Akin was always polite and fair with comments. I have a lot of respect for him.
I think this whole thing was pay back from the CBC over their problem with Krista Erickson. If I am way off base let me know.
David was never afraid to take on the tough issues and set an example that other journalist will never reach.

Actually, Fay, I'm rather fond of him too. I had been so involved on his political blog way back when, that he suggested I start one of my own.

Maybe he was just trying to get rid of me, but I'm glad for the shove! ;)

He had a way of bringing out the best of people on the CTV blog site. Even though I suspected he had Liberal views deep down, he gave everyone a say.
I thank him for pointing you in this direction, you are doing a good job.

Thanks, Fay. That's very kind.

Yes, I think for the most part he tried to stay as non-partisan as possible.

I saw him once at a rally. He seems like a really nice guy.

I would still like to know HOW it got changed from Clinton to Obama - has that ever been explained?

It seems that that issue has been dropped with no explanation?

I know. It's confusing. There were two different leaks though, I think. The story is off the link on the main post here as you probably already know.

True - my problem comes from the fact that the Tories are getting blamed for influencing Obama's campaign when it appears that the leak that influenced his campaign either came from elsewhere or was changed by the media.

This has never been explained in the media so unless you follow this stuff you would be left thinking that Ian Brodie leaked information about Obama's campaign given what the opposition and the MSM have used to hammer the Tories.

Like your headline asking when they are going to Correct the Brenda story, I wonder when they are going to correct this story.

They are great at putting out the headlines without checking facts, then when the REAL truth comes out, they ignore it.

The left wonders why we always talk about biased media - that is one reason. They keep the innuendo and false stories alive.

That's for sure. It's really sad how they just throw something out there with little investigation or corroboration, and then hope it sticks.

Then as you say, if they're proven wrong it barely gets a mention, if at all.

Hey Joanne!
Check out National Newswatch G&M article re Brenda Martin.
Very interesting.

Aha! Thanks Lee. I'll add that link to my latest Brenda Martin post.

Some readers had mentioned that Charles Adler had referenced that report today. Thanks.

David Akin - that's one down from the media invented NAFTA/Obama story.

Next - where oh whre is CBC's Susan Bonner going to land? She, like Akin, has been missing since this bogus tidbit hit the airwaves.

Third- CTV's Washington fellow Tom Clark.

These are the three stooges we know of so far who manipulated and mangled this phoney story.
