Craig, say it ain't so!

Well I am in shock. I was cruising National Newswatch this morning and came across this - Popular Conservative Website is 'No More'.

Craig Smith (aka Ferret), co-founder of the Blogging Tories has pulled the plug on his blog. This sudden departure is a profound loss for us, but Craig says he needs more time for his family.

I suppose we should all remember to keep our priorities straight, but I really liked Craig's blog. This is very distressing. However, I respect his decision.

Best wishes, Craig. Thanks for all you have contributed to BT. Please come back and visit.

I guess the rest of you BT's will have to pick up the slack.

My post will be totally off-topic Joanne, sorry, because I didn't even know of Craig....wish him well in whatever he needs to do for himself though.

An interesting few points made by a commentator on radio this morning.
He was talking about how depressed he can get when he reads about how different life has changed when he was a young 'un.

For instance,
1) a nursery school in England changed the words to Baa Baa Black Sheep to Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep, so as to not offend anyone. I found an old link.,,2-2073043,00.html

2) another school banned children from putting their hands up to answer questions because those who don't put their hands up would have their self-esteem knocked down even further (my words at the end)

3) during a food-raising campaign, one student was asked to take some of his/her contributions home because he/she brought so much more than the others, and we wouldn't want the other children to feel as if their contribution was less.

Political correctness gone amok.

I see that you got the answer from Lorrie as to yesterday's question. makes sense, and it doesn't make sense that we should be subjected to fear-mongering by the press/environmentalists about global warming/cooling/change/life.

lolo! Anon #83 - All great points! I agree with you 100% about political correctness in overdrive. That could be a whole post on its own.

Steph - Big shoes to fill - especially on the Pro-Life front.

Ferret built a great site had some great posts at Conservative Life.....but I've got to tell you that some of the regular hangers on there were just plain embarrassing ..I don't blame him for packing it in!

Craig built a good site, but in the end he didn't have the stomach for American views. Too bad. But the best of the crew from CL have gone to
