Speaking of private members' bills...

Telegdi bill proposes Canadian 'Charter Day'.

Gag me with a spoon (after I finish my popcorn & beer and eat my cake).

We could also have POLITICALLY CORRECT DAY, it would be on every day that had the letter Y in it.

But seriously, don't the Liberals think there are more important things going on in this country than paying homage to every Liberal brain fart or farter. Weren't they just flogging a Pierre Trud'oh day.

Speaking of political-correctness, Scott Reid came out with this one on MDL tonight:

"...my point is this, uh, Mike. Uh, I don't need to think that Karlheinz Schreiber still wears a white hat to think that we still need to look into this..."

White hat? So white is good and black is bad?

I thought that went out decades ago. Like around the time of the Charter.

I think Mr. Beer and Popcorn was referring to the good guys wearing white hats, but I get your point. So what he is saying is that he shouldn't be trusted unless he is dissing a Conservative, and then it must be beleived.

I just thought it was an interesting choice of words. Clip available here.

Soon there won't be enough days on the calender to satisfy every left-leaning special interest group/idea out there.

We've already pretty much ran out of months.

Could this be another shot by the Liberals to paint the Conservatives as being against the Charter? They had time while in office to honour the Charter, but only now this comes up.

Next Liberal item on the agenda is a constitutional amendment to replace the Governor General with Canada's own royal family - the Trudeaus. Justin & Sophie will be our first king and queen. I'm feeling proud already.

Seriously, the Conservatives should pretend to support this Charter Day holiday, then hijack the bill at the last second and change the name to Preston Manning Appreciation Day or something like that.
