Is the real Garth finally breaking out of his Liberal shackles?
"This is not what Parliament’s for. But it’s why there is TV."
I agree. Question Period is all about the show these days. Scoring points and political oneupmanship. If the camera lingers too long on the MP as they sit down, you can watch indignant outrage instantly switch to smirks and high-fives.

don't you just love tv in the legislature. It's such fun watching our taxdollars hard a work.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen MPs more fixed on their blackberries than on what's going on, or who's speaking.
My all time favourite though is watching MPs writing their Christmas cards while proceedings are in progress.
Or, how obvious it is when MPs fill the seats of their absent colleagues to make it appear that there's a full house.

They're stunt doubles. Sitting on your hands for extended periods of time can be detrimental to your health.
I have a feeling it wont last long, but lets sit back and enjoy the moment..until he opens his mouth again and inserts cowboy boots.
Perhaps Mr. Turner is reverting to his "Garth,What the H-ll is Going on in Ottawa" days? Of course he would enjoy greater credibility in this respect if he were not currently a member of a certain political party that ultimately reduced Question Period to an exercise in sophomoric partisanship.
Even a broken watch tells the right time at least twice a day.
You guys are hilarious!
