Hedy Out

Just heard on 570 news that Hedy Fry just dropped out of the Liberal Leadership race. Haven't seen anything on the net about this yet.

As disappointed as I am, she did finally make a wise decision (unlike some others.)

Update: Here's a link.

Why am I not surprised that she is backing Bob Rae?

More MSM starting to pick this up.

The Vancouver Centre MP was championing a greater voice for women in national politics.

Her withdrawal means there are no more women left in the Liberal leadership race after Toronto lawyer Martha Hall Findlay and Toronto MP Bennett dropped out.

Does CTV know something they're not telling us? When did Martha Hall Findlay drop out?

Ha! Good catch! Maybe they are clairvoyant? Mmm.. I wonder what Ms. Findlay will say when she reads that? lol!

O.K. Eight left. Who can name them?

Stephen, thank God for small mercies!

BTW, I am quite honoured to have you drop by. :)

All fixed at CTV now - lol

" Her withdrawal leaves Toronto lawyer Martha Hall Findlay as the only female candidate left in the leadership race."

Alas poor Hedy...

Hedy is a kook. Let us never forget her "Crosses are burning on lawns in Prince George as we speak" . Good riddance.

Joanne,

Do you have any insider information that perhaps Stephen Harper is paying Joe Volpe to stay in the race?

Only reason I ask is, as Harper watches this gong show unfold, he must... MUST be pinching himself to make sure this is reality.

Volpe staying in the race, and Rae picking up steam must be like a dream come true for Harper's pursuit of a majority.

Riley, with the exception of Ms. Fry pulling out today, it just doesn't get any better for Conservatives! :)

It's like when you were a kid and you overheard your parents talking about perhaps getting that special gift you had your heart set on, and you couldn't believe that it actually might happen!

Thanks for the update, Paul. That was a pretty serious goof-up for CTV!

Is Hedy Fry dropping out really significant? And who would she put her support behind? Would it matter in any case?

I'd say this was a none event that was inevitable....a pointless plot twist in the pathetic reality show of the liberals leadership selction process.

Joanne,

If you haven't already read Rick Mercer's blog post today, I think ANYONE, Conservative, Liberal or NDP (but especially Conservative) would laugh themselves onto the floor at his latest post.

It's like you said earlier, this is early-Christmas for the PMO.

From what I've read, the Dippers are considering the name "Social Democratic Party". Apparently "Communism Lite" didn't score as highly in the polls as they thought it would. They're blaming the pollster.

Now that Hedy is toast, who's next?

I sure hope Joe the Ghosthunter hangs in there.
