Is Colle a scapegoat? - Part Three

The court now recalls the Globe as a witness for the prosecution. I know this particular court may seem a bit one-sided, but I honestly have been looking for a defense witness.

Oh, wait, here's one!

Anyway, back to the Globe (Clearing the Slush):

...The Premier would have us believe that the commissioning of Mr. McCarter's report and subsequent resignation of Mr. Colle demonstrate his government's commitment to accountability. But only those with very short memories will accept that storyline. Far from reacting promptly to concerns about the slush fund, Mr. McGuinty's initial response was dismissive. Not only did he stonewall demands for an investigation; he went so far as to imply (albeit with a quick retraction) that opposition members questioning the multicultural program were doing so out of racism. Only when it became clear that his refusal to commission a report would harm his party heading into this fall's election campaign did Mr. McGuinty relent...

Again, McGuinty's motives are questioned regarding his Minister's 'resignation'. Far from being accountable, it appears to have been an expedient way to name a scapegoat and distance himself from the smell.

- Lunch break.

The way the Liberals (both Federal and Provincial) handle potential scandals is a 3 step system. If you watch for it, you'll see it over and over again.

1. Deny it's existence, blame accusers and try to block any attempts at a formal investigation.

2. Failing the block, try to manipulate the investigation to a very narrow scope and push out the final report until after the next election.

3. If a damning report can't be suppressed until after the next election, get it done as quickly as possible to give yourself a chance to replace it with other issues in the voters' memories.

Keep driving them nails. Great investigating and great writing. The wooden stake is a must. Not to mention the silver bullet. These clowns are really blood-sucking Vampires.

Hey, isn't past-best-before date Maria Minna one of the few canadians who were legally permitted to be able to cast more than on vote in a federal general election some years back? And her daughter, the lawyer one? Dindèt that name come up related to some scandal a few weeks back?

Now, Joanne - TrueBlue: I feel that you must be warned of possible legal "consequences." You kee[p making terrible refeerences to Cheese. Then, you pejoriciously call it "stinky." As an avid cheesophile, I take some degree of offence, to have a Gift from God [le Cheese] lumped in so ingloriously with a band of systemic charlatans and thieves in some degree of possession of a highly and erroneously over-developed sense of entitlement. The only entitlement they truly deserve, is to be given the BOOT(!)by the electorate, on a regular basis, provincially and federally. Now, that is the hidden right-wing agenda which the Liberal brain trust truly fears.

Now. Repeat after me.

"C'est really and truly un super grande domage, mais, vraiment, je n'avez pas le grande "dislike" pour le fromage."

And... remember this. If the once "loyal" party organs(the Globanstar) can do this to their masters, you know what is to be expected if ever some Conservative gets his tail caught in the old wringer.

Hell's bells, they're already nailing former Conservative Prime Minister Mulroney's hide to the mast. For allegations of events alleged to have taken place after he left public life, and was supposedly participating as a private citizen. Will this work as a deflection ploy? Keep watching. . . Can we go after former Liberal pols, once theyève returned to private life?? just a question, y'know??

Still waiting on similar news to soon be cascading out of Labrador about Liberal funny-finances with public money.

rob - great analysis.

Tango, sorry if I offended any cheesophiles. Or the cheese itself, for that matter. ;)

A lot of cutting the cheese over here today it seems.

lol! Yeah, it's getting pretty ripe. I should think up a new label.

You say Cheese.

I say Fromage.

Everyone else seems to be able to properly label the offensive stench of decaying democracy and rotting government as yet another, provincial, manifestation of that fermented and curdled skimmed 'milk of human kindness' scam, turned rotten enough to stink up the place.

That'd be The Really Big Wheel of Stinky Liberal-Sleaze-Cheese stuff.

It's taking everything it can get it's hands on. Your money for their friends. Next they'll come after your kids. Then your guns. . . no telling where these hooligans will stop, with this democlintonesqueian hidden agenda of theirs.

tick tick (these Liberals make me nervous)

If the liberals are the ones giving me the ticks [and the fleas, and, I guess the lice and cockroaches - as befits a vivid representation of their collective moral turpitude] . . at least the harsh, and dare I think it, pejorative-based, solutions are emanating from someone obvioudly within the liberal camp (Liberal Supporter) who's talking about killing them off.

Remember this. I think it might cross over to other threads elsewhere.

Harsh. So it seems to me, LS.

So? Then, here's a revision, of my thinking, coming from a Liberal, and a far harsher man than I'd ever want to be: - "the only good Liberal is one who's been "Hartz 2-in-1 collared.?" Am I understanding you correctly, LS?

Now,once "collared," would that get them Liberal tick and flea spreaders convicted and incarcerated, also?

Hey! You're not the same LS who was trying to give me a hard time for some earlier posts about me trangressing "joanne(tru blue)'s blog "code", are you? Sheeesh! Boy. Talk about flippin' and floppin'. ALL OVER!!! Very Dionesque-ish. Scary - Yikes.

tick tock [looks like the collar worked after all. The Libs around here are dropping like flies.]

I am not still beating my wife.

Joanne was talking about hte idea of a blogs code of conduct. The discussion ensued about civility. You then showed up showing a lack of civility. Actually it is only business as usual, but it was amusing to see the call for civility followed by the opposite.

Read what you wish into it. Feel free to take my words out of context, and reword my best comments to say the opposite.

But don't expect me to defend the straw positions you construct.
