Another nail in the Liberal coffin

Colle resigns.

* * * *

Update: (10 p.m.) Wow. I got a lot of mileage out of this little post. 21 comments already! It shows that you don't have to be long-winded to attract debate. Actually, I had to go out for the evening, but managed to type out those two words and hit 'publish' before dashing out the door. See how dedicated I am?

Anyway, here are a few more links:

Exactly Right - Once a Liberal, Always a thief. (Yikes, that's a bit harsh, isn't it?)

Crux-of-the-Matter - The ON Liberal Sponsorship Scandal.

Star - Minister quits over grants. Full text of report here.

Sun - Liberal Minister Coll resigns. (While you're at it, check out the on-line poll).

Sadly, the media will drop this, like they always do. It's only the Liberals doing what they always do, its not news. Considering that most journalists are in the pockets of the mighty Lie-beral machine I doubt any of this will stick around for very long.

Its a shame.

We should just ban the Liberal Party.

We're on the same page on this one -- literally. As Anon says, the MSM will probably just ignore the issues. I hope the Post and Sun stay on it.

Much as I feel vindicated every time a Liberal scumbag gets their just deserts I can't help but worry that there are too many who are not.

The rot runs deep.

Like the mob or biker gangs, the Liberal party of Canada and Ontario should be outlawed for criminal activity.

The vile bunch or thieves disgusts me. I revile the Liberals for doing wrong by Canadians and flashing a smile as they get away with it. Voters simply stand up and clap like seals. They eat it up. It's pathetic.

Keep saying that. Please.

If we decided elections based on sheer anger and rage from the party supporters, you would have 300 seats.

But we don't. We let the voters decide. Please continue to view them with contempt. Maybe they are not stupid. Maybe they just don't trust your radical right wing agenda. You know, the one Steve trots out if he gets a majority.

the more I read about this, the more pissed I get!!!

We work REALLY hard for our money, only to have much of it go to taxes. My money has gone to making sure that the ontario and federal liberals (adscam)are well financed.

Well, ya know what?? if any of you scumbags are reading the blogs to assess the damage, I'm at my freaking boiling point and I wish I could kick your sorry asses out of office and tie your hands up so you will never touch my money again.

YOU WORK ***FOR US** IDIOTS!!!!!

and you know what? I know this sounds naive and probably stupid, but I am so angry right now that I want to do something.

like start a new party. one that respects people's taxdollars. where candidates are not wealthy lawyers living for the loophole, or get high from the power.

the average joe that knows what is important and cuts thru the crap and does not say pc shit or some well rehearsed spin job.

am i nuts?

Quite a FB group there Tori. One member (you), three discussion boards with only one person commenting (you), and false facts:

I started this group right after the news came down from the AG's report that yet another Liberal had handed out our hard earned tax dollars to Liberal friendly special interest groups in a way that was unaccountable and reckless.

You'll notice if you actually read the auditor's report that he noted there were no solid links to Liberals. The issue here is poor management of the fund.

But...best of luck with your little group.

to hell with you Mark and your pc shit. your nothing but a brainless apologist.

well mark, considering I just created the group all of say 5 mins ago, i'm not too crushed about the memeber total yet.

but you know what? I have faith, and not the religius kind. the kind that says that one person's voice is just as important as anyone else's- that one person can make a difference

perhaps you are jaded and cynical...

well, that's interesting...I must be hitting a nerve because the other tori is not me...the one about the dick et al...

“McGuinty vowed on Thursday to put an end to the practice”.
About time, considering concerns were raised starting in the 2005 annual report and then again in 2006.
It seems that unless they get caught, anything goes.
As PGP said: "The rot runs deep." I couldn't agree more.
As for Immigration Minister Michael Colle, he should still be put in front of a legislative committee to face questioning on the grants. I'm thinking the rot runs far deeper than we imagine.

He should be put in front of a bus.

Gee, maybe if Harper did not spend like a drunken sailor, you'd have more... Record spending budgets and all...

The one legged comedian says:
"Maybe they are not stupid!"

As he straps on the old trusty old
"Maybe they just don't trust your radical right wing agenda. " from the dust covered back corner of the lost legs box on the back corner of lost and found for weak arguments of the perpetually lame.

I think I hear a creaking sound....

Torian said...

impressive, wft

dalton's liberals are caught doing wrong and you end up with nothing but "it's harper's fault???"

Good grief, L.S. You just don't give up, do you?

Whenever something unfavourable comes up, you try to change the channel.

Well. if Harper is a drunk, then McGuinty must be a crackhead, how else to explain asking for $150,000 and getting a million. Why, that's unheard of.Oh,wait, that was the same strategy used in adscam.

"In his report, McCarter said decisions were made in Colle's office without much consultation with ministry staff.

Some organizations got cash when they didn't really need the money, McCarter added. The Ontario Cricket Association requested $150,000 but got $1 million - half of which is now sitting in a GIC account, he said.

"Decisions behind who got what were often based on conversations, not applications," McCarter said, adding many organizations said they weren't even aware how the minister knew they needed the money.

Would the real Tori please stand up? - The one that doesn't swear.

Torian said...

I am the real tori :)

the tori who posted about the "dick" is not me, but the rest is.

the real tori is torian and I will forever keep logged in as such.

just sometimes when Im pissed, logging in takes too much time :)

I have started "a little group" as mark so nicely put it.

It's called "Kick Dalton's ass out of Government". Spread the word.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Thanks, Torian. I think I've got it straight now. ;)

4 members and growing Tori! Let's not forget about the 4 that are invited - one of which is John Tory himself (or whatever staffer runs his facebook account).

Momentum builds, victory approaches.

Torian said...

mark, you're too funny, ya know?

but if it makes you feel better to track the group, by all means :)

you could not be a little worried that people might actually be pissed, could you?

nah...

You see, the diff between you and me is that you are all caught up in the numbers. I don't CARE if people join or not. This is *my* way to express disgust and protest this horrible govt. if people join, it's just icing on the cake, my dear :)

Anonymous said...

Whenever something unfavourable comes up, you try to change the channel.

Yes, when someone talks of banning political parties, and says the voters are stupid, I will change the channel back to the fact that we live in a democracy and the "stupid" voters may not be stupid after all.

Torian said...

hey mark, thanks for pointing out the "invited" list.

just for the record, other people have invited those on the list...look me up...Tori Scott. I have one friend on facebook...and he's not on the invited list.

cool that other people feel the need to share the group though, huh?

KURSK said...

Liberal supporter..your pals 'support' a defacto one party state..with themselves in power for perpetuity, because they are the 'natural governing' party..

now, want to talk about democracy?

Anonymous said...

Winning multi party elections makes it a one party state?

Has anyone said "ban the conservative party"? Does anyone say put CPC ministers in front of a bus? You might get me on "Does anyone say CPC supporters are mentally ill", but I don't think any liberals are calling for banning of their political opponents. We prefer to let the electorate decide. We prefer to trust the electorate, and not call them seals when they don't vote our way.

Yes, let's talk about democracy.

Anonymous said...

you are all caught up in the numbers. I don't CARE if people join or not.

I would believe that if you weren't rallying people to join the group here and at Crux of the Matter.

In fact, you noted at CotM:

please join. let’s make a real difference!!!!

Please join? But Tori, I thought that you didn't care about the numbers and that you were doing this for yourself and that, "if people join, it's just icing on the cake".

Doesn't seem like icing on the cake when your begging people to join.

Torian said...

wow, who knew that "please join" qualifies as begging.

so, when the liberals, when promoting an event, such as the one in halifax that made zero dollars for dion and the gang says "please join us..." they are actually begging?

wow, I never really looked at it that way.

Joanne and Sandy can attest that we've blog-known each other for awhile. As well as Sara. Maybe I should in invite her...whaddya think?

this is great though. I have myself a built in facebook group accountant :) saves me the trouble ! Can you give me the stats and hits on the group page while you're at it?

Have a nice night!

Anonymous said...

Tori....your missing the point.

You said:

"if people join, it's just icing on the cake".

Yet you also said:

"please join. let's make a real difference!!!"

So what is it Tori?

Torian said...

let's see...

could it mean that yes, it would be great if people join up, but I have no expectations either way.

I invite people. they join-great. they don't- that's fine.

I'm doing my thing, and I stand by my convictions. If there are others who feel that same, fine. But I don't need to have loads of yes men/women to feel secure with my position.

I can tell this concept is foreign to you :)

I am very curious why me? why my group? if it ends up being small, why such a huge preoccupation with it from someone who does not even want to join?

cherniak_wtf said... "Gee, maybe if Harper did not spend like a drunken sailor, you'd have more... Record spending budgets and all..."

I would what the budget would look like if the Liberals hadn't spent over a decade deliberately underfunding the military and the RCMP? I wonder why the Liberals would want to weaken the very institutions which directly support democracy in Canada?

Funny how the Liberals' dire predictions about what Conservative policies would do to the economy turned out to be completely wrong, eh? I wonder what else the Liberals are wrong about?

liberal supporter said... "Yes, when someone talks of banning political parties, and says the voters are stupid, I will change the channel back to the fact that we live in a democracy and the "stupid" voters may not be stupid after all."

Oh, poor noble 'liberal supporter'!! Beset on all sides by people pointing out the truth about the venal party you love. You're a victim and we should all understand that. It's not your fault the Liberals keep misusing taxpayer's money, after all. We should invent a new minority group for people like you so you can claim to be a victim of racism... or start a support group and then apply for some government funding.

LS - your pals certainly do support a defacto one party state - they justified spending that adscam money to "spread the liberal brand".

Tango Juliette sez:

When the morning CBC radio show sets up an on-air poll along the lines of "How do you feel about the Auditor General's 'CONTENTIONS' ?" one can safely assume that Dalton is on the verge of taking a bit of a hit on this issue. The key torque is the CBC use of "contentions" in the "Report."

The early investigative reporting uncovered by the Tor Star, actually drew some disturbing lines of Liberal linkage to riding associations, party biggies recipients and ethnic groups.

Perhaps it has come time to include the word Liberal in the list of words which define or exemplify and/or typify "graft," "corruption,"`"scandal," and "sleaze."

Perhaps, "Liberal" could also mean "pejorative."

read the original Star articles. Learn just how edelusional you appear as you continue to defend the indefensible. Tick-tock!

Sorry I'm late to the discussion.

Hi, Joanne! Thanks for hosting!

LS, if I stopped voting PC for 10 years due to PM BM, why can't you stop voting Lib for a few years when they corrupt their principles?

Do you just not care?

Möbius said...

Mark,

Nice to know their are no "solid" links to the Lib party.

Just a few "bad apples", just like last time, eh?

Compared to the Mulroney years....

No I did not like the excessive spending but it's nothing compared to the bloated Harper spending... SoCons should be ashamed...
