And Now From the Native Side - With update

Ottawa Core has just posted an update by Six Nations Spokeswoman Hazel Hill.

It would appear that Ms. Hill is not overly enthusiastic with the way things are progressing either. As I interpret it, she is feeling that it is a waste of time to be dealing with the provincial and federal governments, who are the "servants" of the Crown.

So it seems that the natives aren't happy, the people of Caledonia aren't happy, and the only person smiling these days has got to be Jane Stewart with her $1300 a day stipend.

So how are you Ontario taxpayers feeling about all this?

* * * *

More from the native POV at Ottawa Core. (This time regarding the tobacco trade.)

You know how I feel Joanne. Let em freeze or let them go somewhere warm.

Anyone giving them food, heat or items to finish the homes off is aiding a criminal activity in my opinion and should be arrested.

I'm sick of double standards in this country.

Deranged revisionism is hardly a solid basis for negotiating anything.

Taxpayers will be happy to know that 'Natives' are de-valuing their homes - so maybe McLiar is giving a tax break in a roundabout way, property tax should go down on homes that are worth less... lol, lol...

Well, then you may have to arrest the whole province, Mulder, because we are paying the hydro & water.

Hazel Hill denies the validity of any title to land in Canada by the Crown. The land along the Grand River did not belong to the Crown when it was given to the Six Natios after the American Revolution. Perhaps the protesters should reclaim their ansestral lands in New York State.

Maybe the natives will get as pissed off about Jane as you are, and settle faster to deprive her of some dough.

That's good that nobody is happy in this. Finally. Now they are ready to deal. The deal that emerges will not make anyone happy, so they should be unhappy in the first place or the deal won't get done.

L.S. - Somewhere in that convulted logic there is an argument that I sense I agree with.

BTW, according to Wake-Up Call, Jane Stewart has been going around to the residents, saying that the natives have

no legal claim
