New Slogan for Kinsella

Well it looks like I wasn't the only one wondering if the "I am not afraid" slogan was the best approach. Check out Warren Kinsella's June 19 entry on his blog.

Meanwhile, I read the following from a counterterrorist expert in the Post:

“As other parts of the world become more target-hardened, the terrorists are going to start looking at areas that are going to have an impact, where its going to be easier for them to attack,” he said. “You have a very fantastic, open society and very low security levels.”

Forget Dr. Phil. We need Jack Bauer.

Speaking of Warren Kinsella, read this before you renew your Toronto Star subscription!!

I thought that Warren's Post column today was fantastic stuff. Making money through advertising prostitution essentially puts the Star in the position of the "unsavoury pimping middlemen." And that, my friends, is wrong.

RGM - No kidding! This is disgusting. I will have to consider whether or not to continue our local paper which is also owned by Torstar.

I guess Kinsella figures he'll never work at the Star!. lol!

Kind of like that Heather Mills story where the paper was showing her racy pictures "not educational, obviously pornographic", then over on their page 3 is the topless titsploitation picture "but that's ok". (I have no problem with either, since the photo subjects appeared uncoerced, but that paper's hypocrisy was breathtaking.)

I always found Toronto Star to be hypocritical. Always trying to take the moral high ground and shaming behaviour towards anyone who thinks differently. If you differ with their over the top political correctness (they give what should be a good thing a bad name), then your opinion is usually negated because you are benefitting from the inequality. There is always some quality you have that makes you part of the privileged group that doesn't deserve a say.

You're right rgm, but it's more than wrong. Presumably the prostitutes are already established in business, so are paying for the ad out of their income. So by the kind of logic the Star would use, the Star is, in fact, "living off the avails of prostitution", which is illegal.

LOL Believe me, there's no chance of that given his regular filetting(sp?) of Zerb and the rest of the folks running the Star. You'll see him back working with the federal Liberals before you see him with TorStar.

That's true, L.S. And anyone who buys a Torstar product is guilty of aiding and abetting; myself included (but I never buy the Star, unless they've published one of my letters.)

I cancelled my KW Record two months after Torstar took over, and the few times I do pick one up it just confirms my decision. The Records editorials and content are mere puppets to the Star's wishes...which continue to be very one-sided and distorted...

Support the National Post or even the Globe before contributing and encouraging the biased Torstar view of reporting...

RGM - Yeah, you're probably right. Isn't Kinsella going to be working on McGuinty's campaign? I thought I read that somewhere.

Gerry - You made the right decision alright. I'll probably cancel when this subscription is up.

I believe he is working with the Ontario Liberals, but he's keeping the federal party at slightly more than arm's length.
