McCartney and Mills call it Quits

Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Heather Mills just announced their separation. They blame the "constant intrusion " into their daily lives.

Yes, we know how that feels, Paul. We here in Canada are sick and tired of fading celebs invading our country to protest the seal hunt.

Joanne,

On my blog I just posted a call out for ALL bloggers to post their support of Afghanistan. Hopefully your readers will also catch on. We need to send a message to the crack pot opposition parties. I'm hearing the Liberals are going to say Nay.

Instead of clubbing seals, I think we should go to jolly ol' England and club the holy hell out of McCartney!

Bunch of wankers these two are!

Me-thinks sir Paul doesn't like being labeled the "usefull idiot" his socialist wife wants to be!

Zac,

I've long supported engagement in Darfur. I don't see why it's an either or thing. When Sudan and the U.N. decide its time for intervention, Canada will send a contingent. The problem is no one is asking us yet. WE ARE being asked in Afghanistan.

If you want to mount a campaign to send people to Darfur/aid/support anything, I'll be right there to help you. We have to shore up our CURRENT committments first though.

Thanks for your support though. I appreciate it.

The rumblings that I get from Harper and O'Connor is that we don't have the resources for both. I support the mission in afghanistan and will post something to that effect on my site today on my blog. I am at work though, so it might be a bit.

Sounds good, Zac.

You're right Zac we prob can't do both at the moment. It will take some working and retooling to offer anything in Darfur. But we need to press our politicians to do so.

I know O'Connor said we can't do both and he's right for now.. but that is why we need to strengthen our military so we can contribute. There are other ways we can contribute to darfur however than boots on the ground. Helicopters, NGO's, civilian operators, and the other essential back-up tools needed by peace-keeping forces. Once we build up our own forces we can then send troops.

Well with a raving obnoxious boor like Heather Mills, is anyone surprised?

Dante - Yeah, Sir Paul will have to find a new lady, and a new cause.

Oddly enough, Paul and Linda faced much more hassel as the Beatles were on top of the world. I think what Paul means is, 'this new one is a real nutter'...

Peter, thanks. That's what I like to do - Hit 'em with a little gotcha!
