It doesn't seem right that an MP reads his blog during his "work hours". Where is all of that important work they have to do to earn that nice paycheck? Shouldn't he be working on concerns of his constituents?
Who cares that hes "forgiven" her. At face value, that can be deemed a threat and with the mountains of levels of governments talking about the pain and torture of "cyber bullying" that can be deemed as such.
On the other hand, I welcome the fact MPs may read the blogs. It might prove enlightening
Lots of politicians read blogs, its a good source of public opinion. Also, it's good to see how your policies play out with your own grass roots supporters as well.
Serious about an apology? Dead serious. He threatened here, albeit in a "joking" way. Or at least he says afterwards that it was 'sarcasm', if indeed that was actually Garth who replied.
Funny, I was rebuked over there for thinking that Anna and her readers had actually taken it seriously as a threat. I was told that of course it wasn’t taken seriously and that I should get a sense of humour. Now I come over here and it seems you’re in the camp of people who see it as an actual threat. Go figure. By the way, don’t you think he was entitled to ask what she was basing her assertion on (which was nothing, as she’s admitted)?

I think sarcasm can be a thinly-veiled disguise for hostility.
Garth may have been miffed about her comment (not an actual post, but a comment on another blog).
Good grief Red! How many times has any blogger taken aim at an MP in a comment on another blog, and cared whether the allegation was factual or not?
I don't see any other MP in Canada emailing bloggers about whether or not their fleeting comments hold water or not. Garth is way too much into his own ego, and he seems to have a lot of time on his hands.
I totally disagree, but suspect it’s not worth flogging to death. I guess that says something about Garth, that I’m disinclined to go to bat for him. Unfortunately, I think he'd just distract from my argument, so it’s perhaps just as well that I don’t make it.

This is further proof of Mr. Turner's obsession with himself and his image.
He must Google "GARTH TURNER" daily in order to capture any references made about him.

Good point, Gabby. I hadn't thought of it that way.
He reads "his" blog.

Garth is a loser...period. No allegations here.
Halton_Voter - Cyber bullying. Right!
Didn't McGuinty just decree a no-tolerance policy on that? I think Garth falls under that purview; being an Ontario resident and all.
Just curious, but are you in his riding?

I had a "flick off" moment when I saw your title.
Excuse the language but I thought it said "Suffer the little buggers".
L.S. - lol! Too funny.
Zac, the only difference is that not too many of those M.P.'s threaten bloggers who post comments about them.
I think we need Steve Yanke on this one. Not sure if the Garth that forgave is acually GARTH
Anon, I was thinking the same thing.
And I think it's actually Canadianna who deserves an apology.
You're kidding, right?

Red, I agree. Garth is so not worth it.
Like Anna said, he has some good ideas (about the Internet for example) but mucks it up by being a megalomaniac.
Red, exactly.
I just find that his "digital democracy" is more like a "digital dictatorship" if you don't happen to agree with him.
