Tuesday Update: Mindelle Jacobs on cleaner places to dump your baby than a toilet. FYI.

Lifesite - Sacrilege isn't enough for the CBC; they have to lie about it. (H/T SDA)

Wednesday Update - Another brave Jefferys teacher steps forward (Star).

Why don't we just ban school boards that don't enforce rules?

Also, Licia Corbella asks, "What if Dad Left Baby in Toilet?"

Well, we already know the answer to that one.

Ontario Bungling Access Requests, Report Says - Globe.

Conservative Leader John Tory said his party has submitted countless requests for government information and documents but has mostly been stonewalled.

The party says a request for information about the continuing aboriginal occupation in Caledonia still hasn't been fulfilled after about 325 days, while other requests have taken as long as 299 days to be addressed.

Lorrie Goldstein - Youth Crime Law is a Farce.

And still a lively debate going on way back here - Critical Thinking No Longer Required...

Thursday Update: From the Gazette - A woman files a Human Rights complaint against a gay bar for tossing her out because she is female. How ironic.

So, is discrimination the entitlement of gay folks only?

Notice how Dalton McEthics has time to brown nose the Governator and promise lot's of money for Stem Cell Research?
It must be nice to have taken on and dealt with all those old problems! So goo d to move on to something else.

I also wonder if Arnie had some helpful advice on disarming gangs?

Joanne (True Blue) said...

PGP - Hard to resist the Terminator I guess.

As far as I'm concerned, Arnie can go back to La-la land.

Glad you and Sandy (Crux) have seen the bright light of flower power. We have seasons passes to Butchart Gardens and the walk is truly amazing at any time of the year. They are the best gardeners so my little plot of heaven pails (sic) in comparison. Enjoy.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

West Coast Teddi, you're so right about gardening.

But I'm sure your little plot is quite remarkable.

I have some gardening tips at my site, one on moss baskets, and the other about easy to build fountains for small places. My nails are still black no matter how hard I scrub them, but my plants are happy!

Red Tory caught sock puppeting (Jo Journ you may remember "biff's" suggestion that Red Tory is Red Butler.

Go check out his latest post, and his attempt to delete it.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

lol! thanks, Anon.

I did notice that the writing styles of the two "Reds" were remarkably similar. Maybe Red Butler is his Mr. Hyde. ;)

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Thanks, Hunter! I'll check that out. Even reading about gardening is very calming.

I'm looking forward to spreading mulch today, and dealing with some herbs that need repotting.

anon 12:22 and 12:35:

You have accused me of being Red Tory.

Prove it or retract it.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

L.S. - Now I'm really confused! Are you Rhett Butler?

Anonymous said...

No. A troll is libeling Red Tory, and has now started libeling me.

I do not comment here under any other name.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

L.S. - Oh, O.K. I didn't think you'd do that. Actually, I didn't think RT would either, but the styles were surprisingly similar.

Red Tory said...

Only a complete nitwit would believe that malicious bollocks being pedaled by an anonymous sociopath. It's interesting to see that appear to give it some credence. Colour me unsurprised.

That's because people who are not of your political view all sound alike.

That lack of noticing relatively small differences when there are large ones is human nature. We see it in racial matters with "they all look alike" and in politics with the stereotypes we apply to the idiots who disagree with us.

Some interesting comments on the accuracy of temperature readings at various stations have been posted at ClimateAudit.org while wayward son and I were having our little disagreement a few threads back. If you would like to know why tennis and littering contribute to global warming, and have a few laughs, take a look at the threads Quality Control... and More ISOO 2000... posted on May 26 & 27(no science degree necessary for this.)

No, I think you speak much better English than Dion.

Jo -- It gets better. See up update.

Joanne — I’d very much like to see what stylistic similarities you see between the writing/comments/posts of this other person and me. It seems like a very curious statement to make without being able to substantiate it, so you shouldn’t really have any difficulty in this regard. Could you provide an example of what led to this conclusion?

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Sorry, Red. No hard evidence. Would you like me to delete the statements?

I don't mind if it will make you go away.

Anonymous said...

biff is Joanne!

Joanne (True Blue) said...

lol! I'll admit anything if it makes Red Tory go away.

Red Tory said...

No, by all means, leave them standing. I think it demonstrates something of value.

As for leaving you alone and not bothering you in future with my pesky comments, it’s your blog and I’ll be quite happy to oblige seeing as you’ve asked. Your remarks are the polite version of STFU, but I can respect that.

In taking this position however I don’t think you’re doing much to bolster the case for civil discourse, but of course you’re perfectly entitled to insulate yourself from dissenting opinion that you find troublesome or irritating in some way.

Cheers & Best Regards

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Nothing personal, RT. I'm just tired of all the drama.

OMMAG said...

Drama! Indeed ........ what a nice polite way of describing what the ghost that would not leave offers!

But you have to admit you like the challenge .... just a little! ;)

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Yeah, that's true. If he gives me a chance to miss him, maybe I'll beg him to come back. Who knows?

OMMAG said...

I thought so :)
So when do we get to see pictures of the garden?

Joanne (True Blue) said...

PGP, it's a work in progress. Maybe when I'm done though. Do you like gardening?

Also, don't miss the great discussion on the previous thread between Gayle, Nomdeblog, Paulsstuff and Tori. I don't see anyone close to giving up on this one!

Anonymous said...

LS ...No. A troll is libeling Red Tory, and has now started libeling me.

when you grow up, my son, you'll learn what libel means.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps you could enlighten us, richard? Or is belittlement your objective?

Anonymous said...

LS - What I'm trying to say is you're taking yourself way too seriously.
If you're beyond high school age, it's high time you grew up.

Anonymous said...

all this "you're saying bad things about me" drama is way to Dionesque.

Anonymous said...

I see. Belittlement is your objective then.

What is your problem, richard?

As far as being out of high school goes, when you have completed it, hopefully you will have learned about butting into conversations. "Butting in" is always ok in a place like a blog, but still requires a little thinking instead of simple reacting. Usually by Grade 12 you know enough to learn the context of the discussion before wading in with your own opinions. Reading this entire thread would be a good start.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

No personal attacks, please. Thanks.

Thanks Joanne.

op NASA Official Questions Global Warming!

That is a misquote. He does not question the science. He questions who are we to decide the current climate is the best one for humans!

Of course he is an appointed administrator, appointed April 2005 by the US President.

I think the gay bar will lose the case. If they are not a private club, they cannot discriminate either.

Maybe they could have a men only room, such as hotels have women only floors, but they can't bar people for being straight. They probably would claim that they are not barring her for being straight, but for being female, just as womens health clubs appear to do. Health clubs maybe. Bars, no.

It is funny though. It illustrates that discrimination itself does not discriminate. Nor does boneheadedness.

Joanne (True Blue) said...

Yeah, the headline is somewhat inaccurate. I heard he ruffled a few feathers in any case!

They probably would claim that they are not barring her for being straight, but for being female, just as womens health clubs appear to do. Health clubs maybe. Bars, no.

That's right. All they have to do is call it a health club; even if it's a bar. I read recently about a similar case in the States, and the gay owners won the case. Wish I could remember where it was.
