Aw, stuff it!

Ontario politicians have just voted to stuff their stockings at taxpayers' expense. The Star is the first MSM site to carry the story, which we all knew was inevitable anyway given John Tory's complicity.

The fact that this was pushed through in spite of indignant public reaction tells me that politicians believe that all will be forgiven and forgotten come the next election which is less than a year away.

How will we register our anger and frustration?

Update: CBC - Grits, Tories Unite to Pass Major Pay Hike. Is Dalton really worth $198,620???

FRIDAY UPDATE: I knew the Toronto Sun wouldn't let me down - McGuinty? Tory? Humbug!

The editorial quotes Oliver Cromwell:

"You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately ... Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!"

Time for a mutiny, folks!

No, but the next premier will be worth it. The pay hike will attract better people.

In other words the current pay level attracted only incompetent nincompoops. The vote confirms it, doesn't it?

Touché!

Maybe I can live with that, Liberal Supporter. Merry Christmas! Thanks for being a loyal reader - and for keeping me on my toes! ;)

The average Canadian doesn't follow the news very closely. In fact, most Canadians don't really give a damn about current events and politics. Ontarians will blindly vote for McGuinty not even knowing about this.

Anon, I'm afraid you're right. We deserve the government we get.

What really bugs me is that they postponed breaking for Christmas to push this through. Is there any other issue that they would have done that for??? What about giving us our eye exams back, folks?

The whole thing reeks of entitlement.

$198,620? Is that the bounty on Dalton?? If so, do I have to bring him in alive? :)

lol!!! Mac, too funny! Oh man, that is an exquisite mental image; especially with you belonging to the RCMP. Thanks for that. ;)
