Wonderful Day for Canada!

This morning, at 11 a.m., Stephen Harper will be sworn in as the next Prime Minister of Canada. Apparently he is bringing his own Bible.

The Liberals will just be swearing.

I can't wait until he is officially sworn in (which will be soon). I will let out a sigh of relief that it finally actually happened. It's a good day for the country.

*LOL* Well, Steph, you can start breathing again. We finally have a new P.M.!!!

What a surprise about the Liberal defection! Does anyone have any comments on that?

Sydney, nice to hear from you, and I'm glad you enjoyed my post. Maybe I should sell that idea to the Sun! Where are you from, Sydney?

Hi Joanne,
Thank you for your reply. I think that the views expressed on your site represent so many of our fellow Canadians. It's good to know that our voices are getting out there.
To answer your question, I was born and raised in KW. Your article about the recent plant closing escpecially hit home because it was such a huge part of our community.

Hi again, Sydney. I'm so glad you've joined the blogosphere!

Yes, the plant closure is going to be a huge loss for this community. The ripple effect will be felt for months to come.

On the plus side, this area is very tightly knit. I'm sure the support will be there emotionally and in terms of retraining opportunities.

The company itself has an opportunity to do the right thing as they assist the workers in making the transition. I'm hopeful there will be some compassion demonstrated.
